a.23.59.txt Personally appeared in open court Carl Tellgemann and made application to be admitted a citizen of the United States of America, and in support of his said application proved by Charles Herbst and Fritz Tegener both citizens of this state, that he has resided within the limits and jurisdiction of the United States of America for more than five years last past and the last year thereof within this State that during that time he has behaved as a man of good moral character attached to the principle of the Constitution, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same, Carl Tellgemann having shown to the satisfaction of this Court that he has faithfully complied with the naturalization law of the United States Congress and is entitled to the benefits of the same, and he also having made oath that he will support the Constitution of the United States of America, and having entirely renounced and abjured (?) all allegiance and fidellity to every foreign Prince, potentate, State or sovreignty whatever, and particularly the Kingdom of Brunswick of whom before he was a subject. It is therefore ordered that the said Carl Tellgemann be and he is hereby admitted a citizen of the United States of America, and that letters of citizenship issue accordingly.
