A petition from citizens of Kerrville and vicinity asking
that the District Court Room be granted for their use as
a place for the worship of Almighty God, being here presented.
It is considered by the Court that the premises aforesaid
may be let to any body of citizens of the county who may be
responsible for the safe keeping of the same when not occupied
as a court room provided said citizens pay over to the Sheriff
of the County a ( ? ) compensation for the use of the same, to
wit Five Dollars per day or the part of the day. Said sum to
go into the Court House fund of the County. ( ? ) will return
the premises to the Sheriff in as good condition as when received.
It is further considered by the Court that in this letting the
premises aforesaid, no distinction shall be made between
associations, sects, classes or denominations in the community.
It being understood that the premises shall at no time be let
for an unlawful or ( ? ) purposes. It is further ordered that
the Sheriff, the County Treasurer and the County Clerk shall
act as a committee in this behalf until it is further ordered.
