On this the 14th day of February A.D. 1917, came on to be considered
the appointment oP s County $ealth Officer, and it appearing to the Court that Dr.Er$ast E.
Palmer, Ss a competent physician legally qualified to practice under the laws of t"is 2t eta
and of a reputable processional standing.
It is therefore ordered by the Court that said Lrnest E. Palmer, M.D. be and he
is hereby appointed County Health Officer, in and for Kerr County, Texas, for a period of
two years, or until his successor is appointed and tuly qualified, unless sooner removed
Yor cause. And said Ernest ~. Palmer, M.D. upon qualifying as required by law shall receive
such compensation for services actually rendered as this Court may allow from time to time.
Oath of Office.
I, Ernest E.Pa.lmer, M.D. do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully and
imnartielly discharge and perform all the iuties incumbent upon me as County Health Officer,
in and for Kerr County, State oY Texas, accordi_.g t~ the best of my skill and abiltiy, agree-
ably to the Oonstitntion and Lawe of the United States and of t':is State. And I do Ynrther
solemnly awesr (or affirm) that, since the adoption oY the Constitution oY this State, I,
being a citiaen of this State, have not faught a duel with deadly weapons withir. this State
nor out of it, nor have I sent or accepted a challenge to fight a duel with deadly weapons,
nor have I acted as a second, in carrying a challenge, or aided, advised or assisted any
person thus offending, And I Furthermore solemnly swear ( or affirm) that I have not, diree-
tly nor indirectly, paid, offered, or promised to pay, contributed nor promised to contribute
any money or valuable thing, or promised any public office or employment as a rer:ard for the
giving or withholding a vote at Ohe election at which ~nwas appointed to secure my appoint-
t, so help me God.
