The General Laws oP the State oP Texas passed by the 32nd Legislature, in 1911,
Chap. 119, Sec. 8, provides that in diatriat composed oP two or more counties the oPficiel
shorthand reporter shall receive a salary of X1600.00 per annum, to be paid monthly by
the oounties composing the Q.istriot, in proportion to the number oP weoke provided by law
