E. H. Nichols, Tax Assessor and Collector, of Kerr County, Texas for the month of August, 19$1

No. 5292. APPLICATION BY TAR ASSESSOR AND COLLECTOR FOR THIRD ADVANCEMENT ON 1951 ASSESSING
COMMISSIONS.
This the 10th day of September, A. D. 1951, came on to be considered by the Court the
application of E. H. Nichols, Tax Assessor and Collector of Rerr County, for an advancement
from Kerr County of 3500.00 to apply on his 1951 County Tea Assessor's Commissions. And it
appearing to the Court that he is entitled to such advance, and that such amount should be
paid to him as follows to-wits 3250.00 out of the Jury Fund and 3250.00 out of the Court
House & Jail Sinking Fund of Kerr County; therefore by motion duly made by Eckstein, seconded
by Goff and unanimously approved by the court that Nichols be advanced the sum of 3500.00
payable 3250.00 out of the Jury Fund and 3250.00 out of the Court House and Jnil Sinking Fund
of Kerr County, and the County Clerk be and is hereby authorized to dray voucher against the
County Treasurer in like amount.

Legislature authorizing a aaximum salary of X2400.00 per annum, of xhieh a pro rata portion,
according to the population of the County, would amount to i33•~ etonthly for Keyr County's
share. Wherefore, the court having considered the appllcation, feels that if a combined
majority of the Commissioners Courts of said District allow such employment, Kerr County
should pay t33.~ to the aeeretary or stenographer from the time of employment; therefore
by motion duly made by Goff, eacondsd by Eckstein and unanimously approved by the court that
the aeeretary or steaographerfbr the District Attorney of the 38th Judicial District be

This the 11th day of September, A. D. 1951, came oa to bs examiasd by the court, the
itemized monthly reports and tax receipts of E. H. Hichola, Taz Assessor h Collector, for the
month of July, A. D. 1951, showing the dieposltion of all monies owed to the State end
County collected by him during the month of Jnly, 1951, with a eertificafe of audit by the
County Clerk as to his examination of said reports and stubs and as to the correctness as to
names, dates and amounts on each, and it appearing to the court that said report together
with tax receipt stubs, filed herein, are correct; therefore by motloa duly made by Eckstein,
seconded by Powell and unanimously approved by the court, as audited by the County Clerk.

This the 11th day of September, A. D. 1951, cams on to be considered by the court, the
dire necessity of a continued allowance Lo Temple H. Bhelton, a resident of Center Point{
wherefore, the court having on the 31st day of August, 1951, provided as allowance to Temple
u H. Shelton in the amount of X25.00 and that said pauper is in a continued need of assistance
and that the sum of X25.00 should be allowed by the court until further determinatloa.
Therefore by motion duly made by Eckstein, seconded by Powell and unanimously approval
by the court, that the County Clark ba, and is hereby directed to draw voucher against the
County Treasurer in monthly ins tallmenta payable on the 31st day of each month beginning
September 3Y, 1951, to Temple H. Shelton on the general fund of Karr County until further
determined by the court.

No. 5299. SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT AUTHORIZED TO PURCHASE ONE ADDITIONAL MOBILE RECEIVER AND
TRANSMITTER UNIT.
This the 11th day of September, A. D. 1951, came on to be presented to the court, the
application of Earl Garrett, 3herifY of Kerr County, requesting the authority to parchsss
one additional mobile receiver and transmitter 60 xatt unit for an additional deputy's auto-
mobile; and it appearing to the court that said unit xould be attached to one of the two
deputy's living in an adjoining city in the County, xhieh xould be of great assistance to
the Sheriff's Department and that acme should be authorized.
Therefore by motion duly made by Eckstein, aeoonded by Goft and unanimously approved by
the court that Sheriff Earl Garrett be, sad is hereby authorized to purchase one additional
