Kinsey, Com, Prec. 4, F. M. Davis District Engineer of the Texas Highway Department, discussed the proposed 1954-1955 Federal Aid Secondary Road Program now being formulated by the State Highway Comm- ission. During this discussion the County officials presented information and suggestions relative to the road needs of their County. The District Engineer requested that the County Commissioner's Court make a formal recommendation to him in regard to the most needed second- ary roads of Kerr County, listing them in order of priority with the understanding that only a very limited number of projects could be authorized. The projects recommended for consideration were as follows: LIMITS PRIORITY FROM TO 1 Kerrville Gillespie Co. Line (On State Hwy.#16) 2 Extend F.M. 479 to Kimble County Line 3 Turtle Creek on FM 689 to State Hwy. 27 4 State Hwy. 27 or 41 at Mt. Home to F.M. 1340-West of Hunt 5 Center Point - South to Bandera Co, Line 6 End of F. M, 1341 - East to U. S. #87 The District Engineer stated that the recommendation of the Court would be given full .-. consideration by his office in the submission of the recommended program and that the State Highway Engineer would be informed as to the recommendation of the Commissioners' Court of Kerr County. It was fully explained to the Commissioners' Court that it was the desire of the High- way Commission that only the most meritorious secondary roads be incorporated into the state maintained system in order to render the greatest possible service to the public and that the program would be recommended to them on that basis, It was further explained to the Commissioners' Court that the program would be formulated by the State Highway Commission after a study of the submissions from the District Engineers of the State Highway Department and the County informed of the action taken by the Highway Commission through the office of the District Engineer. The above order and resolution was accepted, after motion having been duly made by Molter seconded by Guthrie and unanimously approved by the court, that the projects be re- ~' commended as per order on file, -o-o-o-o-
