No. 5859. GRANTING APPLICATION OF COUNTY CLERK FOR FOUR OR FIVE DEPUTIES AND/OR ASSISTANTS.

This the 2nd day of January, A. D., 1953, came on to be considered by the court the
application of Lawrence Stephens, County Clerk, of Kerr County, applying for authority to
appoint four or five deputies and/or assistants at a proposed salary to be fixed by the Comm-
issioners Court at its regular January term, 1953, which application shows probable receipts
of approximately x"9200.00 and probable dishursements not including deputies applied for, in
the approximate amount of ±~20U.00, and it appearing to the court that said application should
be granted. Therefore by motion duly made by Guthrie, seconded by Goff, and unanimously
approved by the court that the application should be approved as prayed for.

No. 5860. ORDER AUTHORIZING APPOINTMENT OF DOROTHY RICHARDSON, CHIEF DEPUTY.COUNTY CLERK.
This the 2nd day of January, A. D., 1953, came on to be considered by the court, the
application of Lawrence Stephens, County Clerk, Łor his authority to appoint and deputize
Dorothy Richardson as Chief Deputy, County Clerk, and it appearing to the court that said
officer is entitled to said chief deputy, and that said application should be approved; there-
fore by motion duly made by Goff, seconded by Powell and unanimously approved by the court,
that said officer is authorized to deputize said chief deputy and that said appointment is to
date from January 2nd, 1953, and to continua in force until revoked by said officer or be
otherwise terminated and that the compensation of said chief deputy is to be paid solely from
the fees of said office.

This the 2nd day of January, A. D., 1953, came on to be examined by the court, the
application of Lawrence Stephens, County Clerk, for his authority to appoint and deputize
Leoma Heffernan as Deputy County Clerk, and it appearing to the court that said officer is
entitled to said deputy and that said application should be approved; therefore by motion duly
made by Goff, seconded by Powell and unanimously approved by the court, that said officer is
authorized to deputize said deputy, and that said appointment is to date from January 2nd,
