This the 2nd day of January, A. D., 1953, came on to be considered by the court the
application of Lawrence Stephens, County Clerk, of Kerr County, applying for authority to
appoint four or five deputies and/or assistants at a proposed salary to be fixed by the Comm-
issioners Court at its regular January term, 1953, which application shows probable receipts
of approximately ~9200.C0 and probable dishursements not including deputies applied for, in
the approximate amount of :200.00, and it appearing to the court that said application should
be granted. Therefore by motion duly made by Guthrie, seconded by Goff, and unanimously
approved by the court that the application should be approved as prayed for.

This the 2nd day of January, A. D., 1953, came on to be considered by the court, the
application of Lawrence Stephens, County Clerk, for his authority to appoint and deputize
Dorothy Richardson as Chief Deputy, County Clerk, and it appearing to the court that said

fore by motion duly made by Goff, seconded by Powell and unanimously approved by the court,
that said officer is authorized to deputize said chief deputy and that said appointment is to

Leoma Heffernan as Deputy County Clerk, and it appearing to the court that said officer is

Sorsby as Deputy County Clerk, and it appearing to the court that said officer is entitled to
said deputy ahd that said application should be approved; therefore by motion duly made by
Guthrie, seconded by Powell and unanimously approved by the court, that said officer is auth-
orized to deputize said deputy and that said appointment to date Prom January 2nd, 1953, and
to continue in force until revoked by said officer or to be otherwise terminated and that the

application of Oliver Moore, Sheriff of Kerr County, applying for authority to appoint three
deputies at a proposed salary to be fixed by the Commissioners Court at its regular January
term, 1953, which application shows probable receipts of approximately N2400.00, and it

made by Guthrie, seconded by Powell and unanimously approved by the court that the application
should be approved as prayed for.

as Deputy Sheriff, and it appearing to the court that said officer is entitled to said deputy
and that said application should be approved; therefore by motiorr duly made by Powell, seconded
by Partel, and unanimously approved by the court that said officer is authorized to deputize
said deputy and that said appointment is to date Prom Janus ry 2nd, 1953, and to continua in

application of Oliver Moore, Sheriff, for his authority to appoint and deputize, C. A. Rodgers ~`
as Deputy Sheriff, and it appearing to the court that said officer is entitled to said deputy
and that said application should be approved; therefore by motion duly made by Powell, seconded
by Partel, and unanimously approved by the court that said officer is authorized to deputize
said deputy and that said appointment is to date from January 2nd, 1953, and to continue in

No. 5866. GRANTING APPLICATION OF TAX ASSESSOR AND COLLECTOR FOR DEPUTIES.
This the 2nd day of 3anuary, A. D., 1953, came on to be considered by the court the
application of E. H. Nichols Tsa Assessor and Collector of Kerr County, Texas, applying for
authority to appoint five deputies and extra help at proposed salary of ;12,707.80 which
application shows the probable receipts of his office for the ensuing year to be X19250.00
with additional disbursements not including the deputies applied for in the amount of X1300.00.
It appearing to the court that this application should be granted in so far, as the deputies
applied for is concerned, and that the proposed salaries applied for, be rejected at this time,
and that said salaries should be approved end fixed by the court, sitting at its regular Jan-
uary term. Therefore motion duly made by Guthrie, seconded by Partel and unanimously approved
by the court, that said officer is entitled to the deputies as set out in said application and
that the salaries indicated therein be rejected and shall be fixed by this court at its regular
January term.

application of E. H. Nichols, Tax Assessor and Collector for his authority to appoint and de-
putize Harry Crate as Deputy Tax Assessor and Collector and it appearing to the court trat said
officer is entitled to said deputy and that said application should be approved; therefore by
motion duly made by Guthrie, seconded by Powell and unanimously approved by the court, that said
officer be authorized to deputize said deputy and that said appointment is to date from Jan-
uary 2nd, 1953, and to continue in force until revoked by said officer or be otherwise terminated
and that the compensation of said deputy is to be paid solely from the fees of said office.
