examination of the financial condition of the ~;ounty, the court is of the opinion that it is
to the best interest of Kerr County that no increase allowance should be p;ranted under said
Article 39128 and that all officers of district, county, and rrecinct of Kerr County, writh
the exception of the Peace Officers he cornt:ensated on a fee basis and be allowed to retain the
increase maximum compensation as contemplated under Article 3C91.a, ?. C. S.
Therefore by motion duly made by Powell, seconded by Guthrie, and unanimously approved by
the court that all P9strict, County, and Precinct Officers of Kerr County, with exception of
Peace Officers, shall retain such maximum fees as are earned by them in the performance of their
official duties as contemplated under Article 3u91a ?.. C. S, which also includes the increase
compensation for the deputies of such various officers and that the compensation of all Peace
0`'ficers he com"ensated on a salary hasis for the fiscal ,year of 195^, according to provisions
of Article 3912e, R. C. S. That the (-ounty Clerk he, and is hereby directed to prepare: a cer-
tified copy of this order and forward same to the Comptroller of Public Accounts of the; State
of Texas.

This the 16th day of January, A. D. 1953, came on to be considered by the court the
fixing of the salary of Guy Powell, County Agent of Kerr County, for the ensuing year of 1953.
`~"Ther.eas, on the 12th day of January, 1953, Cuy Po'.^ell County Agent and k. S. P~.iller, D9_strict
Agent for Agriculture Extension Service, Texas A. &,f<1. Collei'e System, submitted a proposed
hudget for extension workers in Kerr County, Texas, for the period of Tanuary 1st, 1953, and
ending December 31st, 1953, proposing an increase of salary for Guy Povrell, County A~~•ent, frog.
~"18GG.U0 to :~240U.00 per annum, and so stating to the Court, that this County Afent, Guy Powell,
is being paid the lovreat salary for this district. The court after having been informed that
said Agent was receiving in the capacity as County A~~ent the sum of „1228.G0 from the Federal
Government, X1332.00 from the State Government, and ,y18GG.uG from the County Government, to-
getY.er with traveling alloy/ance from the State Government in the amount of ;~SUO.UO per annum,
aggregating a total salary and traveling expense of ''~4S60.G0, are of the opinion that such
salary should be increased. ?wherefore the court having been requested an additional '~6UU.00
raise for the County's pro rata proportion of said salary, the court is of the opinion that an
increase of '"300.OG should be granted, as they are aware of the fact that if some increase is
not made, the extension service will relieve Kerr County of a L'ounty Agent. 'Pherefore by motion
duly made by Guthrie, seconded ry Partel and unanimously approved by the court that the salary
of the County Agent be increased from X1800.00 to ;S21C0.00 per annum, for Kerr County's pro rata
part of the salary fixed for Guy Powell as County Agent of Kerr County, to be payable i.n month-
ly installments of ^'175.UG, beFinning January 31st, 1953. The County Clerk be and is hereby
directed to draw vouchers against the County Treasurer in like amount, payable to Cuy Powell
each month out of the General Fund of Kerr County for the ensuing year, 1953.
