Therefore by motion duly made by Powell, secanded by Guthrie, and unanimously approved by
the court that all District, County, and Precinct Officers of Kerr County, vritYi exception of
Fence Officers, shall retain such maximum fees as are earr:ed by them in the performance of their
official duties as contemplated under Article 3E91a `.. C. `~. which also includes the increase
compensation for the deputies of such various officers and that the compensation of sll Fence

This the 16th day of January, P,. D. 1953, came on to be considered by the court the
fixing of the salary of Guy Powell, County Agent of Kerr County, for the ensuing year of 1953.
?^/hereas, on the 12th day of January, 1953, Guy Po',•:ell County Agent and k. S. N:i.ller, District
Agent for Agriculture Extension Service, Texas A. &.1,1. Colle€',e System, submitted a proposed
hudget for extension workers in Kerr County, Texas, for the period of January 1st, 1953, and
ending December 31st, 1973, proposing an increase of salary for Guy Powell, County Agent, from
„~180G.u0 to w24GG.U0 per annum, and so stating to the Court, that this County At°ent, GL.y Povrell,
is being paid the lo~r,est salary for this district. The court after having been informed that
:;aid Agent was receiving in the capacity as County Agent the sum of w122E3.G0 frorn the Federal
Government, ~1332.G0 froci the State Government, and ~;~180U.u0 from the County Government, to-
get tier with traveling allovrance from the State Government in the amount of :~SUO.uO per annum,
aggregating a total salary and traveling expense of ~486U.00, are of the opinion that such
salary should be increased. !"~herefore the court having been requested an additional 'wE~00.U0
raise for the l'ounty's pro rata proportion of said salary, the court is of the opinion that an
increase of '"300.00 should be granted, as they are aware of the fact that if some increase is
not made, the extension service will relieve Kerr County of a County Agent. Therefore by motion
duly- made by Guthrie, seconded ry Partel and unanimously approved by the court that the salary
of the County Agent be increased from ?~1800.OU to ~521GO.UU per annum, for Kerr County's pro rata
part of the salary fixed for Guy Fowell as County Agent of Kerr County, to be payable i.n month-

ing of the salary of the County Home Demonstration Agent for the ensuing year of 1953. ?+Ihere-
as, Kerr County is without a County Home Demonstration Agent since about September 1st, 1952,
and that the salary for such position was being paid, ~9U7.00 from the Federal Government,
X1260.00 from the State Government and X1300.00 from the C%ounty Government, together with .:;SUU.uU

that Kerr County's pro rata part of salary for the Kerr Gount•y~ Home Demonstration Agent be in-

County to the County Home Demonstration Agent, beginning from the time of employment, and
to continue for the ensuing year 1953, in monthly installments of X133.33 each by voucher drawn
by the County Clerk on the County Treasurer.

No. 5908. FIXING THE SALARY OF THE COUNTY JUDGE.
This the 16th day of January, A. D. 1953, came on to be considered by the court, the
salary of the County JudC•e for the ensuing year, and it appearing to the court that said officer
~-- is ex-officio County Superintendent and receives part of his compensation through said source,
and is entitled to retain his fees of office and that his salary should be fixed at .~132G.00
per annum as County Judge and :;x300.00 per annum as Juvenile Officer of Kerr County; therefore
by motion duly made by Aartel, seconded by Goff, and unanimously approved by the court, that
the salary of the County Judge be fixed at ~132G.G0 per annum payable to John R. Leavell in
monthly installments of :x110.00 the first payment to begin January 31st, 1953, and the salary
as Juvenile Officer be fixed at •';+300.00 per annum, payable to said officer in monthly install-
ments of ';:25,60. The County Clerk be, and is hereby authorized and directed to draw vouchers
against the County Treasurer in the amount of .y110.00 monthly out of the Road & Bridge Fund,
