Pdo. 5967. SETTING RATES FOR ASSESSP,IENTS FOR 1953.
This the 11th day of February A. D. 1953, came on to be considered by the court, the re-
quest of E. H. Nichols, Tax Assessor & Collector, Kerr Coiulty, Texas, for the Court to set the
rates for livestock, cultivated and grazing land.
It appearing to the court that the previous assessment fixed are as follov.~s to-wit:
n30.00 per head for cattle; 13.00 per head on sheep; X2.00 per head on goats; and X15.00
an acre on cultivated land and X3.00 to ,`5.00 per acre on s;razing land; and that in their --
discretion these rates should be refixed for the year 1953; therefore by motion duly m;sde by
Powell, seconded by Guthrie, and unanimously approved by the court that the `rax Assessor &
Collector be and is hereby directed to assess livestock and land as follows, to-wit: Cattle
w:0.00 per head; Sheep 'E3.00 per head; Goats X2.00 per head, cultivated land :15.00 per acre

This the 11th day of February A. D. 1953, came on to be considered by the court, the
necessity for an audit for the County Officers books for the term of 1951 and 1952, and it
appearing to the court that the County Judge should be authorized to advertise for an auditor
to audit the records of the county officials for said term, therefore by motion duly made by
Guthrie, seconded by Goff and unanimously approved by the court, that the County Judge be and
is hereby authorized to advertise for an auditor to audit the books of all County Officials
for 1951 and 1952 term, including the Co:nroon School District books, and present their estimate
cost at the regular ?March term.

No. 5971. ORDER CORRECTING 1~i0TdTHLY EXPENSE REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF JULY FOR COUNTY JUDGE.
This the 11th day of February A. ll. 1953 came on to be considered by the court the monthly
expense report of Jno. R. Leavell, County Judge, Kerr County, Texas for the month of Julq
1952. It appearing to the court that order No. 5711 so indicated that said report approved
expenditures of 7501.20 as being the total expenses during the month of July, 1952, and
actually such report covered the first six months of traveling expenses of which January was
figured at X50.00 per month and February to July, 1952, inclusive, were figured at X75.00 each,
and that this order No. 5711 should be amended to approve said report of traveling expenses
for the first six months of 1952. Therefore by motion duly made by Goff seconded by Guthrie
and unanimously approved by the court that said order No. 5711 be corrected to read "To approve
the actual and necessary expense of 7501.20 which covers X1.20 postage for the month of July
and X500.00 to cover the first six months traveling expenses of 1952.

No. 5972. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS AND ACCOUNTS.
This the 11th day of February A. D. 1953 came on to be considered by th.e court the claims
and accounts filed against Kerr County General Fund, since the last term of this court, and
it appearing to the court that the claims and accounts filed against such fund should be approve
for payment. Therefore by motion duly made by Guthrie, seconded by Powell a.nd unanimously
approved by the court that the claims and accounts filed herein be ordered approved for payment
out of their respective funds as filed therein.

No. 5973. INCREASE IN PAUPER ALLO'7ANCE TO SALLIE BUTCHER.
This the 11th day of February A. D. 1953, came on to be considered by the court the
necessity to increase the pauper allowance of Sallie Butcher from ;10.00 to ;15.00 a month.
It appearing to the court thpt said payments should be made on the last of each month beginning
February 28th, 1953 and continuing for each month thereafter until further determined by the
court. Therefore by motion duly made by Goff seconded by Guthrie and unanimously approved by
r" the court that the pauper allowance to Sallie Eutcher be increased from ;:10.00 to 7°15.00 per
' month beginning February 28th 1953, and the last of each month thereafter until further deter-
mined by the court. The County Clerk be and is hereby directed to draw voucher against the
County Treasurer in the amount of 715.00 each rionth, out of the General Fund. of Kerr County,
Texas, to Sallie Butcher.
