No. 6289. OPENING AND REJECTION OF BIDS FOR TOPPING ARCADIA LOOP AND EXTENSION OF OAK PARK
ROAD.
This the 12th day of October, A. D. 1953, came on to be opened the sealed bids for the
topping oP the Arcadia Loop, located 22 miles iNest of Kerrville off Highway 27, being 6,947
Peet or 1.316 miles of pavement, 18 Peet wide; and that portion of Oak Park Road extending Prom
the present paved loop through Oak Park connecting with the State Tubercular Hospital Road a
distance of 1817 Peet or 0,344 miles oP pavement, 20 feat wide, as per specifications on file
in the office of the County Clerk and County Judge. The sealed proposals were opened in open
Court; The Hill Country Construction Company entered only a statement as to why such firm did
not bid, and Killian-Keller Company bid X7,966.50 for the key job on the two aforementioned pro-
jects. '+TherePore, the Court having considered the bid of Killian-Keller Company, is of the
opinion that said bid should be rejected, and that the Bank A~oney Order in the amount of $850.00
be returned to said contractor. Therefore, by motion duly made bq GoPP, seconded by Bartel,
and unanimously approved by the Court, that the bid of Killian-Keller Company be rejected, and
that the Gounty Clerk be, and is hereby directed to return the Bank Money Order in the amount
of X850.00, to said firm.

No. 6290. APPROVAL OF ANNUAL REPORT OF SCHOOL FUNDS ENDING AUGUST 31, 1953.
This the 12th day of October, A. D. 1953, came on to be examined by the Court the annual
report of County School Funds Por scholastic year ending August 31, 1953, for the State Depart-
ment of Education, prepared by Chas. Schreiner Bank (Uninc.) County Depository oP school funds,
and it appearing to the Court after thorough examination, that same should be approved as veri-
fied by the County Superintendent, Jno. R. Leavell; therefore, by motion duly made by Guthrie,
seconded by Goff, snd unanimously approved by the Court, and as verified and audited by the
County Superintendent; and that the County Clerk be, snd is hereby directed to Forward a copy
oP said report to the State Department of Public Education, Austin, Texas, and to the Chas.
Schreiner Bank oP Kerrville, Texas.

No. 6291. APPROVAL OF MONTHLY EXPENSE REPOHP OF TAX ASSESSOR AND COLLECTOR.
This the 12th day of October, A. D. 1953, Dame on to be examined by the Court, the monthly
expense report of E, H. Nichols, Tax Assessor and Collector of Kerr County, Texas, Yor the
month of September, 1953, shrnving an actual and necessary expense of $1278.00 incurred by him
in the conduct oP his office during said month, and it appearing to the Court that said report
is true and correct, and such expenditures should be approved; therefore, by motion duly made
by Goff, seconded by Guthrie, and unanimously approved by the Court for such expenditures indi-
cated therein.

No. 6292. APPROVAL OF SHERIFF`S MONTHLY REPORT OF COLLECTIONS AND DEPOSITS.
This the 12th day of October, A. D. 1953, came on to be examined the monthly report of col-
lections and deposits made by Oliver Moore, Sheriff oP Kerr County, Texas, covering all Pees
and mileage Pees collected by him in the performance of his duties in said office Por the month
of September, 1953, in amount of X164.85, and it appearing to the Court that the itemized report
of collections and deposits as submitted, are true and correct and should be approved by the
Court; therefore, by motion duly made by Goff, seconded by Guthrie, and unanimously approved by
the Court.
