D. 1953, came on to be opened the sealed bids for the topping oP the Arcadia Loop, located 22 miles SYest of Kerrville off Highway 27, being 6,947 feet or 1.316 miles of pavement, 18 Peet wide; and that portion of Oak Park Road extending Prom the present paved loop through Oak Park connecting with the State Tubercular Hospital Road a distance of 1817 Peet or 0.344 miles of pavement, 20 feet wide, as per spec ifioations on file in the office of the County Clerk and County Judge. The sealed proposals were opened in open Court; The Hill Country Construction Company entered only a statement as to why such firm did not bid, and Killian-Keller Company bid $7,966.50 for the key job on the two aforementioned pro- jects. '+Vherefore, the Court having considered the bid of Killian-Keller Company, is of the opinion that said bid should be rejected, and that the Bank A~oney Order in the amount of X850.00 be returned to said contractor. Therefore, by motion duly made by Goff, seconded by Bartel, and unanimously approved by the Court, that the bid of Killian-Keller Company be rejected, and that the County Clerk be, and is hereby directed to return the Bank Money Order in the amount of X850.00, to said firm. o-o-o-o-o-o-o No. 8290.
