THE STATE OF TEXAS ) County of Kerr ) On this the 12th day oP November, A. D. 1953, came on to be considered the undated petition of w. C. Schwethelm, et al., praying for an election to be held throughout the County of Kerr, Texas, for the purpose of determining whether or not the registration oP and the tax on dogs shall be required in said County; and it appearing to the Court that the petition is signed by on hundred, or a majoritq, of the qualified property taxpaying voters of said County: THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE COMMISSIONERS' COURT OF Kerr COUNTY, TEXAS: That an election shall be held on the 2nd day of December, A. D. 1953, in each voting pre- cinct throughout the said Kerr County, Texas, for the purpose of determining whether or not the registration of and the tax on do gs shall be required in said County; and the officers of election heretofore appointed by this Court on the 14th day of February, A. D. 1952, and Nov- ember 12th, A. D. 1953, and qualified under the laws of this State to hold elections at the respective voting places in said Kerr County, Texas, be and they are hereby directed to hold this election; and it is further ordered that notice of such election shall be given by publica- tion of said notice one time in a newspaper of general circulation in the ffiglish language in said County; but if there be no newspaper in the English language and of general circulation published in said County then such notice shall be posted at the courthouse door for a period of not less than one week before such election. pt such election those favoring the putting into force of this law in said County shall have written or printed on their ballots the words: "For Registration of and Tax on Dogs" and those opposed to the proposition shall have written or printed on their ballots the words: "Against the Registration of and Tax on Dogs" The Clerk of this Court shall furnish the presiding officer of each voting box within the above designated area, a number of official ballots not less than twice the number of qualified ^ voters at such voting boxes. Said election shall be held in compliance with the General Elec- tion Laws of Texas, except as otherwise specified. After the polls are closed the officers of the election shall proceed to count the votes and within three days thereafter shall make return of the results of said election to the Commissioners' Court of this county.
