This the 14th day oP December, A. D. 1953, came on to be presented to the Court, an epplios-
tion by Hugh B. Engelman for the acceptance by the Court of his resignation as Justice of the
Peace, Precinct No. 4, to become effective immediately, together with an application oP Henry
B. Engelman requesting an appointment in such capacity. It appearing to the Court that the
petition Por resignation by Hugh B. Engelman should be accepted, and that said office should be
declared vacant, and that the application of Henry B. Engelman Por appointment should be accept-

ed,andhis Surety Bond in the principal sum oP X1000.00 should be approved. Therefore, by motion
duly made by Goff, seconded by Guthrie, and unanimously approved by the Court, that the resigna-
tion of Hugh H. Engelman be accepted and that the office of Justice of the Peace, Precinct Iv`o.
4 be, and is hereby declared vacated; that Henry E. Engelman be, end is hereby appointed Justice
oP the Peace oP Precinct No, 4 oP Kerr County, Texas, to become effective as of even date here-
with, and that the Surety Bond on DHr. Henry B. Engelman in the amount of $1000.00 be approved
and that said officer shall be qualified upon his taking the official oath of office.

No. 6373. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS AND ACCOUNTS.
This the 14th day of December, A. D. 1953, came on to be considered by the Court, the claims
and accounts Piled against Kerr County, since the last term oP this Court, against the General
Fund, Road and Bridge No. 1, Road and Bridge No. 2, Lateral Road and Bridge No. 3, Road and Brid@
No. 4, Lateral Road and Bridge No. 1, R. & B, R. W, Fd. F. M. 669, and Permanent Improvement
,... Fund, and the necessity to confirm the weekly pay-roll of the laborers as per sworn affidavit
filed with the County Glerk for the weeks ending November 14th, 20th, 28th, and December 5th,
and 12th, 1953. It appearing to the Court that said claims and accounts filed against each
fund should be paid, and that the payment oP the labor bills as per sworn affidavit filed with
the County Clerk for the weeks aforesaid, be confirmed as paid. Therefore, by motion duly made

by Guthrie, seconded by Goff, and unanimously approved by the Court, and the County Clerk be,
and is hereby directed to draw vouchers against the County Treasurer on all claims Piled in the
amounts therefor, payable out of the respective funds to the parties entitled thereto; that the
labor bills be confirmed as paid, Por the weeks ending November 14th, 20th, 28th, and December
5th, and 12th, 1953.

No. 6374. COURTHOUSE TO CLOSE FOR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS.
This the 14th dap oP December, A. D. 1953, after motion having been duly made by Guthrie,
seconded by Goff, and unanimously approved by the Court, that County Officials and employees
are hereby authorized and directed to close their offices in the Court House, beginning Thursday
Noon, December 24th, 1953, through December 27th, 1953, in observance of the Christmas holidays.

No. 6375. ORDER AUTHORIZING TERRACING, ETC., ON PROPERTIES OF MRS. HENRY PRIOUR, LENIIS C. HURT,
AND R. A. SPROUL.
This the 14th day of December, A, D. 1953, after motion having been duly made by Guthrie,
seconded by Bartel, and unanimously approved by the Court, that the applications signed by Mra,
Henry Priour and Lewis C, Hurt, Co-Owners, and R. A. Sproul, be approved and the contracts
therefor be entered into by and between the members of the Commissi.oners• Court and the abone-
mentioned parties, end that Commissioner Goff be authorized to perform such work accordingly,
at a time when the machinery and/or equipment is available, conforming to the provisions of
Article 2372e, R. C. S., said applications and contracts entered as follows, to-wit:

In accordance with the provisions of Article 2372c of the revised Civil Statutes of Texas,
I would like to have you come upon my land at 10 mi W, Mtn. Home on Hy #41 on left (South) for
the purpose of improving, terracing, protecting or ditching the same. I will pay you the stan-
dard county charge for such work toward the conservation of the Fertility oP my land. I believe
that this work would be for some public benefit and ask that you do so find.

Part, and Lewis C Hurt Jr_ Mrs Henry Priour, hereinafter called Party of the Second Part, con-
tracts as follows:

Party of the First Part, in consideration oP the hereinafter mentioned undertaking (or pay-
meat) of the Party of the Second Part agrees to furnish county machinery to Party of the Second
Part for those uses as set forth in accordance with Article 2372c oP the Revised Civil Statutes
of the State of Texas, charging for such use of Maintainer with operator - X8,00 per hour; High-
loader with operator - X3.00 per hour; and Truck with operator - X2,50 per hour.

Party of the Second Part, in consideration of the hereinbefore mentioned undertaking (or
payment) of the Party of the First Part agrees to pay the County for the use of such machinery
at the above rate.
