ORDER SETTING COUNTY OFFICIALS ON FEE BASIS, SHERIFF AND JUSTICES EXCEPTED. STATE OF TEXAS: COUNTY OF KERR: IN COMMISSIONERS' COURT, KERR COUNTY, TEXAS, JANUARY TERM, A. D. 1954. This the 12th day of January, A. D. 1954, came on to be considered by the Court the provi- sions of Senate Bill #5, Chapter 465 passed at first called session of the 44th Legislature prescribing compensation of District, County and Precinct Officers to be compensated on a fee "' basis and be allowed to retain the increased maximum as contemplated under Article #3891e, R. C. S., which also includes the increased compensation Por the deputies for such various off- icers and the provision oP Article 3912e, Section 2, R. C. S,, prescribing that the Peace Offi- cers be compensated on a salary basis, according to the provisions oP H. J, R. #36 of the 50th Legislature, as adopted by the people in the general election oP November 2, 1948, amending Section 61 oP Article 16 of the State Constitution es the same applies Por the payment of salary of Sheriff and Constables in counties having a population of less than 20,000. It appearing to the Court that it is to the best interest of Kerr County and its Officers that all District, County and Precinct Officers of Karr County, (with the exception of Public 6Yeigher, Registrar of Vital Statistics and County Surveyor), and with the exception oP the Peace Officers, be com- pensated on the fee basis and be allowed to retain the increased maximum as contemplated under Article 3891e, R. C. S. Therefore, by motion duly made by GoPP, seconded by Guthrie, end unanimously approved by ,... the Court, that all District, County and Precinct Officers oP Kerr County, (with exception oP Public ti9eigher, Registrar of Vital Statistics and County Surveyor), and with exception oP Peace Officers, shall retain such maximum fees as are earned by them in the performance of their , official duties as contemplated under Article 3891x, R. C, S,, which also includes the increased compensation for the deputies oP such various officers and that the compensation of Peace Offi- cers be fixed on a salary basis Por the Pis cal year oP 1954. That the County Clerk be, and is hereby directed to prepare a certified copy of this order and forward same to the Comptroller oP Public Accounts of the State of Texas. o-o-o-o-o-o-o No. 6418, FIXING OF SALARY AND TRAVEZING EXPENSE OF COUNTY AGENT. This the 12th day of January, A. D, 1954, came on to be considered by the Court the fixing of the salary and traveling expense oP Guy Powell, County Agent oP Kerr bounty, and it appearing to the Court that said agent receives benefits Prom the Extension Service and that X1600.00 per annum should be fixed as his salary and X500,00 as his traveling expense from Kerr County; ~ therefore, by motion duly made by Hertel, seconded by Goff, and unanimously approved by the Court, that the salary oP Guy Powell, County Agent oP Kerr County, be fixed at X1600.00 per annum, payable w133.33 at the expiration of each month, beginning January 31st, 1954, and his traveling expense be fixed at X500.00 per annum, payable X41.66 et the expiration oP each month, a @~~~ 4 _/. FIXING SALARY OF COUNTY HOh1E DEMONSTRATION AGENT. This the 12th day of January, A. D. 1954, came on to be considered by the Court, the Fixing of the salary and traveling expense oP Gary Jo Garland, County Heme Demonstration Agent of Kerr County, Texas, for the ensuing year 1954, and i.t appearing to the Court that said Agent is receiving benefits from the Extension Service and that the salary of X1500.00 per annum and a traveling expense oP $500,00 should be fixed by this Court; Therefore, by motion duly made by and traveling expense Guthrie, seconded by GoPP, and unanimously approved by the Court, that the salary/of Mary Jo Garland, County Home Demonstration Agent of Kerr County, be fixed at X1500.00 per annum, payable X125.00 each month, end w500.00 per annum, payable X41.66 esch month, beginning January 31st, 1954, and the County Clerk he and is hereby directed to draw vouchers against the County Treas- urer for said monthly installments payable to said Agent out of the General Fund of Kerr County. ,., o-o-o-o-o-o-o No. 6420. FIXING SALARY OF THE CON:MISSIONERS. This the 12th day oP January, A. D. 1953, after motion having been made by Goff, seconded by Guthrie, snd unanimously approved by the Court that the salaries of the Commissioners oP Kerr County for the ensuing year of 1954 be fixed as follows, to-wit: L. M, Guthrie, Commissioner Precinct No. 1, $1800.00 salary and X600.00 traveling expense; V, D. Powell, Commissioner, Precinct No. 2, X1500.00 salary and X300.00 traveling expense; Adolph Hertel, Commissioner, Frecinet No, 3, $1500.00 salary and ~300,G0 traveling expense; and Lee Goff, Commissioner Precinct No. 4, X1500 salary and X600,00 traveling expense. The County Clerk be and is hereby directed to draw vouchers against the County Treasurer in monthly pay- ments, beginning January 31st, 1954 in the amount of X150.00 each, out oP the General Fund, pay- able to L, A4. Guthrie, and Lee Goff, together with X50.00 payable to each of said officers, pay- able out of their respective Road and Bridge Frecincts for traveling expense, end the monthly salaries of X125,00 each, payable to V, D. Powell and Adolph Bartel out of the General Fund, to- ~' gather with #25,00 monthly payahle to each of said officers for traveling expense, out of their respective Road and Bridge Precincts. o-o-o-o-o-o-o No. 6421. FIXING THE SALARY OF THE COUNTY JUDGE. This the 12th day of January, A. D. 1954, came on to be considered by the Court, the salary oP the County Judge Por the ensuing year, and it appearing to the Court that said officer is ex- officio County Superintendent and receives part of his compensation through said sources, and is entitled to retain his fees oP office and that his salary should ba fixed at X1320.00 per annum as County Judge and X300.00 per annum ea Juvenile Officer oP Kerr County; therefore, by motion duly made by Bartel, seconded by Goff, and unanimously approved by the Court, that the salary of the County Judge be fixed at X1320.00 per annum payable to John R. Leavell in monthly install- ments of X110.00 the first payment to begin January 31st, 1954, and the salary as Juvenile Off- icer be fixed at X300,00 per annum, payable to said officer in monthly installments of X25,00, The County Clerk be, and is hereby authorized and directed to draw vouchers against the County ' Treasurer in the amount of X110.00 monthly out of the Road and bridge Fund, X25.00 each month out oP the General Fund of Kerr County, end said officer is further authorized to retain the maximum fees of said office according to law, o-o-o-o-o -o-o
