1W. 6970. FIXING SALARY OF THOS. H. RAPE, COUIdTR' SERVICE OFFICER.
This the 15th day of March, A. D. 1955, came on to be considered by the Court the salary
of Thos. H. Rape, County Service Officer of Kerr County, and it appearing to the Court that said
County Service Officer's salary should be fixed at X600.00 per annum. Therefore by motion duly
made by Guthrie, seconded by Goff and unanimously approved by the Court, that Thos. H. Rape,

County Service Officer's/should be fixed at X600.00 per annum, payable in monthly installments
of $50.00, beginning March 1st, 1955, and that the County Treasurer is hereby directed to draw
vouchers in said amount, at the close of each month on the General Fund of Kerr County.

NO. 6971. TRANSFER OF X10,000.00 FROM ROAD AND BRIDGE FUND TO HIGHWAY 16 RIGHT OF VIAY FUND.
This the 15th day of March, A. D. 1955, after motion having been duly made by Goff and
seconded by Bartel, and unanimously approved by the Court, that the County Clerk and County
Treasurer be, and are hereby directed to transfer the sum of X10,000.00 from Road and Bridge
Fund to Highway 16 Right of 'Nay Fund for the purpose of purchasing right of ways and fencing.

This the 15th day of March A. D. 1955, came on to be considered by the Court the desire to
co-operate with the Texas Highway Department on the straightening and improving of State High-
way 41 extending from Highway 27 at Mountain Home a distance of approximately 21-1/2 miles to
Kerr-Real County line. Wherefore, the Court will be obligated to furnish all required right-
of-way free of cost to the State at which time the State will straighten and improve said
right-of-way by reconstruction of grading, structures and surfacing and state maintenance at
no expense of the County, which will be of great benefit to the County as a whole.
Therefore, motion duly made by Lee Goff and seconded by L. ?t?. Guthrie, and unanimously
approved by the Court that the above described portion of said Highway 41 be improved and
straightened by reconstruction of grading, structures, and surfacing by the State of Texas
subject to the condition that Kerr County will furnish all required right-of-way and remove
fences on said right-of-vaay free of cost to the State.
It is further ordered that the Clerk of this Court furnish a certified copy of this portion
of our minutes to our District Engineer of the State Highway Department.

BE IT REA'fE7t'fBERED, that on this the 1st day of April, 1955, at a Special Session in the
April Term of the Commissioners' Court of Kerr County, Texas, upon motion made by Goff and
seconded by Guthrie, it was unanimously adopted that the order of this Court, No. 6899, dated
January 28, 1955, be in all things cancelled, rescinded and of no further force and effect.
~ Upon motion made by Goff, seconded by Guthrie, that Kerr County, Texas, purchase from
E. B. Meeker, 3.21 acres of land; and 1.03 acres from John E. Decker, Jr., both tracts described
as follows:
A 3.2I acre tract of land, a part of Survey No. ll3, Samuel VVallace, Kerr County, Texas,
being described by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at an iron pipe set in the northwest
line of what is known as the Meeker Tract, same being the southeast line of a certain tract oP
land conveyed to John E. Decker try the Guaranteed Home Financing Company described in a deed of
record in Vol. 82, Page 265, of the Deed Records of Kerr County, Texas, said point being 350
feet S. 45° W; from the east corner of said Decker Tract and said beginning point being the
North corner of the herein described tract; Thence S. 45° W. with the dividing line between
said Meeker Tract and above-mentioned Decker Tract 400 feet to an iron pipe set for the 1Nest
corner of the herein described tract; Thence S. 45 E. 350 feet to an iron pipe set for the
South corner of the herein described tract; Thence N. 45° E. 400 feet to an iron pipe set Por
