~ court the matter of authorizing the County Clerk to advertise in a looel newspaper that the
Commissioners Court at a regular meeting on the 11th day of Mar eh, A. D. 1957, intends to rais
the salary of the Sheriff of Kerr County, Texas, in the amount of ffi450.00 per year, being en
annual salary 0f $4200.00 per year, in accordance wlth Section 12, Article 38832, R. C. S.
and on motion duly made by Commissioner Lee GoPP, seconded by Commissioner L. M. Gutty rie,
and unanimously approved by Lhe Court that the Clerk is nereby authorized to advertise as abov
stated.

This the 13th day of February, A. D. 1957, came on to be heard end considered by the
Court the matter of payment 0f claim of the City of Kerrville in the amount of X1676.34, Out
of the General Fund, being for one-PO Urth of the contract with the City of Kerrville for fire
f ightil~g outside of the City Limits 0f Kerrville, same being for the year 1956, therefore, oh
motion duly made by Oommissioner Adolph Hertel, seconded by Commissioner L. M. Guthrie, and
unanimously approved by the Court that the County Clerk be, end is hereby directed t0 draw
voucher against the County Treasurer in the amount of $1,676.34 payable to the City of Kerr vil
out of the General Fund 0f Kerr County, for the Co unty~s pro-rate expense of one-half for Pire
fighting contract for the year 1956.

N0. 7696. SETTING RATES FOR ASSESSMENTS FOR 1957.
This the 13th day of February, A. D. 1957, came on t0 be consid er ad by the Court, the
request of E. H. Nichols, Tax Assessor end Collector, Kerr County, Texas, for the CO Urt to
set the rat e0 for livestock, cu~tivet ed end grazing land. It appearing to the Court that the
previous rise ssmants fixed are as follows, to-wit: x20.00 per head for cattle; $3.00 per head
on sheep; $2.00 per head on goats; end X15.00 an acre 0n cultivated lead and X3.00 to X5.00
per acre on grazing land; and that in their discretion these rates should be ref ix ad for the
year 195'/; therefore by motion duly made by Commissiotter Adolph Hertel, seconded by Commission
Lee Goff, and unani:m usly approved by the Court that the Tax Assessor and Co lleotor be end is
hereby directed t0 assess livestook and Land as follows, to-wit: Cattle X20.OC per head; Shee
3.00 per heed; Goats X2.00 per head, cultivated land x15.00 per acre and grazing lend $3.00
