ORDER FOR COURTHOUSE AND JAIL BOND ELECTION STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF KRRR ON THIS the 14th day of October, 1963, the Commissioners Court of Kerr County, Texas, convened in regular session at the regular meeting place thereof in the Courthouse at Kerrville., Texas, there being present and in attendance the following members, to-wit: JULIUS R, NEUNHOFFER W. C. SCHWETHELM PRENTICE WITT ADOLPH BARTEL ROGER STONE COUNTX JUDGE, Presiding; and COMMISSIONER, Precinct No. 1; COMMISSIONER, Precinct No. 2; COMf+12SSI0NER, Precinct No. 3; COMMISSIONER, Precinct No. 4; and among other proceedings had were the following: The County Judge introduced the following election order: WHEREAS, the Commissioners' Court of Kerr County, Texas, deems it advisable to submit to the resident qualified taxpaying voters of said County, who own taxable property in said County and who have duly rendered the same for taxation, a proposition for the issuance of bonds of said County for the purpose hereinafter stated; there- f ore BE IT ORDERED BY THE COP~'IISSIONERS' COURT OF KERR COUNTY, TEXAS: That an election be held 1n said County on the 9th day of November, 1963, which date is not less than fifteen (15) nor more than thirty (30) days from the date of the adoption of this order, at which election the following proposition shall be submitted to the qualified taxpaying electors who own taxable property in said County and who have duly rendered the same for taxation, for their action thereupon: "SHALL the Commissioners Court of Kerr County, Texas, be authorized to is-sue the bonds of said County in the total principal sum of FOUR HUNDRED THO;JSA~?D ($400,000) to mature serially at such time as may be deemed most expedient by the Commissioners Court, but not latex than forty (40) years from the date thereof, and to bear interest at a rate not to exceed SIX PER OEiQTUM (60) per alnum, and to levy ad valorem taxes sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to pay the principal thereof at maturity, for permanerrL improvement purposes, to-wit: the construction of improvemer!~s, additions and repai..rs to the County Courthouse and Jail Building located in the City of Kerrville, the county seat of Kex~a^ County, Texas, pursuant to authority conferred by the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas?" THAT said election shall be held under the provisions of the Constitution and laws of the State of T~:xas, particularly Chapter 1, Title 22, Revised Civil Statutes of 1925, and all persons who are legal voters of said Kerr County, Texas, and who are resident proper- t~~ ~,a~;nayers of sa.'~d County and who have duly rendered their property for tara~ion, sli:zll be entitled to vote at said election. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the ballots for said election shall be prepared in sufficient number and in conformity with Chapter 6, V,A,T,C,S. Luglan, Clerk THE MANNER of holding said election shall be governed by the General Laws of the State of Texas regulating General Elections, except as modified by the provisions of Chapter 1, Title 22, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, as amended. A COPY of this order, signed by the County Judge of said County, and certified by the County Clerk shall serve as proper and sufficient notice of such election. NOTICE OF SAID ELECTION shall be given by posting and publication of a copy of this order, at the top of which shall appear the words "NOTICE OF ELECTION FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS". Said Notice shall be posted in each of the election precincts of said County and at the County Courthouse, not less than fourteen (14) days prior to the date on which said election is to be held, and be published on the same day in each of two successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation published in Kerr County,, Texas, the first of said publications to be made not less than fourteen (1~+) days prior to the date set for said election.
