of rmoposed salary increases of elected officials and that notice be published in the official
newspaper of Kerr County, that it is the intention of the Commissioners' Court to consider
proposed salary increases at the regular January 1965 Term of Commissioners Court for the
following elected officials:
County Clerk from y;4~00,00 per annum to JP54CO.OC per annum
Sheriff from 51;980.00 per annum to ~5400.00 per annum
Tax Assessor~Collector from~`~,4P.04.00 per annum to N5400.G0 per annum

Motion made by Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commissioner Bartel, with Commissioners
Mosty, Bartel and Stone voting "AYE" and Commissioner Schwethelm voting "NO", said motion
carrying by a majority vote,

division to the City of Kerrville,

N0. 9882 ORDER REGULATING SMOKING IN CARFETc;D AREA OF DISTRIC'P COURT RGO;•4
On this the 31st day of December 1961 came on to be heard and considered by the Court
tre matter of protecting the newly installed carpeting in the front portion of the District
Court Room of the Kerr County Ccurt House and it appearing to the Court that unregulated
snicking in the area ccncerned would result in unnecessary damage tc the carpeting and create
an undesirable situation as to maintenance of the area, it is ordered on motion by Commissioner
,-. Bartel, seconded by Commissioner D4osty and unanimously approved by the Court that smoking in
the carpeted areas of the District Cc:urt RGOm be prohibited at all times except on such
occasicns when the area is being used for court puriroses, and that on such occasion the
practice of smoking shall be regulated at the discretion of the presiding Judge of the Court.

On this the 31st day of December, 1964 came on to be heard and considered by the Court
the provisions of Article 8,43 of the Texas Election Code as enacted and as modified by the
-. provisions of Article 3914, Vernons Texas Civil Statutes and it appearing; tc the Court that
the statutory fee of :"2,00 for each such qualifying I'reci.nct and County Official must accomi:any
the prescribed Certification of Cuali_ication made by the County Judge to the Secretary of
State, it is ordered on motion by Commissioner Bartel, seconded. by Commissioner P,osty and
unanimously approved by the Court that Kerr County pay the statutory fee of y'" 00 for each
srch qualifying official, doing so for all Precinct and County Officials who may have qualified
for office since the General Election held in November 1964 ar.d who may hereafter eualif~r for
such offices rursuant either to election or appointment, and it is further ordered that the
Clerk and the Treasurer be authorized to draw vouchers on the General Fund payable to the
Secretary of StaT,e of the State of Texas at the rate of ~Z,CO for each such elected or appoint-
ed official who may hereafter be certified to the Secretary of State by the County Judge of
Kerr County as having qualified for a Precinct on County Office subsequent to November 3,
1964 pursuant tither to election or appointment.
