N0. 10493 ACCEPTANCE CF RESIGNATION OF FRANK FELTS, DEPUTY SHERIFF
On this the 1st day of May 1967, upon motion made by Commissioner Bartel, seconded
by Commissioner Burney, the Court unanimously approved that the resignation of Frank Felts,
Deputy Sheriff, be accepted, effective i~'lay 1, 1967 and that he be given one week's leave
with pay.

N0. 10494 ORDi:R AU'1'HORIZING APPOIN'T'MENT OF A. E. STAUDT AS DEPUTY SHERIFF
On this the 1st day of May 1967, came on to be considered by the Court the applica-
tion of Leon Maples, Sheriff, for authority to appoint and deputize A. E. Staudt as Deputy
Sheriff, and it appearing to the Court that said officer is entitled to said Deputy and
that the application should be approved; therefore, on motion made by Commissioner Burney,
seconded by Commissioner Bartel, the Court unanimously approved that said officer be
authorized to deputize A. E. Staudt as Deputy Sheriff, at a salary of 54620.00 per annum,
effective May 1, 1467.

On this the 8th day of May 1967, at 11:00 o'clock A.M., a public hearing was held in
regard to the proposed salary increase for the County Attorney, pursuant to Article 38831,
Sections 1, 15 and 18, Vernon's Texas Statutes. No appearance of the public for or
against the proposal of the salary increase, therefore, upon motion made by Commissioner
Stone, seconded by Commissioner Burney, the Court unanimously approved the proposed salary
increase of the County Attorney at 57200.C0 per annum, effective Piay 1, 1967.

NU. 10498 ORDER RENEWING FIRE FIGHTING CONTRACT WITH THE CI'T'Y OF KERRVILLE, TEXAS

On this the 8th day of May 1y67 came on to be heard and considered by the Court the
matter of providing Rural Fire Protection for Kerr County, and it appearing to the Court
that the existing Fire Fighting Contract with the City of Kerrville, Texas will expire
on May 31, 1967; and i.t further appearing to the Court that the existing contract and th.e
working arrangements agreed upon thereunder are providing satisfactory rural fire protection
for the citizens of Kerr County and thet it would be to the best interests of Kerr County
to renew such contract for a one-year period;
It is therefore Ordered on motion by Commissioner Schwethelm, seconded by Commissioner
Bartel and unanimously approved by the Court that the existing Fire Fighting Contract with
the City of Kerrville, Texas be renewed for a period of one year commencing on June 1, 1967
and ending on Play 31, 1968 as provided for in Part C of the existing contract, said renewal
to become effective upon the joinder therein by the City of Kerrville by letter acceptance
as provided for by the terms of said Part C, and it is further Urdered that the Clerk of
