44 N0. 10891 ORDER REQUESTING TEXAS HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TO RECONSTRUCT QUINLAN CREEK BRIDGE _ AND APPROACHES ON F. M. ROAD 1341 On this the 10th day of March, 1969, came on to be heard and considered by the Court the matter of reconstruction of the present low water crossing of Quinlan Creek on F. M. Road 1341 near the city limits of the City of Kerrville; and it appearing to the Court that the population influx which has occurred in recent years in the proximity of the aforesaid narrow low water bridge has increased the volume of traffic on the said bridge and its approaches far beyond the safe and reasonable capabilities of the section of roadway con- cerned; and it further appearing that during times of severe rainfall, the present grade level of F. M. Road 1341 in the area creates problems of residential flooding in adjacent areas and that the flooding of Quinlan Creek renders the existing bridge impassable and thereby severely restricts the ingress and egress to the homes of the residents of the adjacent portions of the City of Kerrville, it is ordered on motion by Commissioner Bartel, seconded by Commissioner Burney and unanimously approved by the Court that Kerr County, acting by and through its Commissioners Court, hereby requests the Texas Highway Department to reconstruct the existing bridge crossing Quinlan Greek on F. M. Road 1341 and to also reconstruct the approaches thereto commencing at the city limits of the City of Kerrville and running east a total distance of approximately 0.40 miles and that Kerr County hereby agrees to furnish without delay all necessary right-of-way for this project at no cost to the State of Texas and it is hereby certified that the necessary funds for such right- of-way procurement are currently available for expenditure and are not otherwise encumber- ed. o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o N0. 10892 ORDER REQUESTING TEXAS HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TO RECONSTRUCT AND IMPROVE CURVES ON PORTIONS OF STATE HIGHWAY 16 SOUTH OF KERRVILLE On this the 10th day of March, 1969, came on to be heard and considered by the G'ourt the matter of the reconstruction and improvement of certain dangerous curves on State Highway 16 south of the City of Kerrville commencing in the proximity of Camp Meeting Creek and running south a distance of approximately 6.5 miles to the proximity of the intersection of F. M. Road 1273 with State Highway 16; and it appearing to the Court that when this section of State Highway 16 was reconstructed in the year 1941 along the close proximity of the then existing alignment there resulted a roadway consisting of relatively straight sections interspersed with sharp and dangerous curves constructed on limited right- of-way which curves have repeatedly caused danger and accidents due to the inability of the traveling public to cope with unexpected sharp curves encountered on this section of roadway; and it further appearing to the Court that due to the influx of population and the development of private and denominational summer camps in the area served by F. M. Road 1273 and State Highway 16, certain dangerous curves in the aforesaid section of roadway should be reconstructed so as to increase the overall safety of this section of State High- way 16; it is therefore ordered on motion by Commissioner Schwethelm, seconded by Commis- sioner Bartel and unanimously approved by the Court that Kerr County, acting by and through its Commissioners Court, hereby requests the Texas Highway Department to reconstruct and improve the existing dangerous curves in the section of State Highway 16 from the proximity of Camp Meeting Creek to a point approximately 6.5 miles south and in the proximity of the intersection of F. M. Road 1273 with said Highway 16 and that Kerr County hereby offers to furnish without delay such additional right-of-way as might be required by the Texas Highway Department for this proposal and to do so at no cost to the StaT.a of mAY~e era ~+
