Counties; and WHEREAS, the present and projected rate of industrial development of the Kerr County, Texas, trade area is deemed to require the continuation of adequate rail service between ._.. Kerrville and San Antonio, Texas; and WHEREAS, the proposed discontinuance of rail service as aforesaid would serve to seriously impair the current trend of area industrial development which has been based upon the material benefit of available dependable railroad service. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Commissioners Court of Kerr County, Texas, speaking on behalf of the people and the industries of the area, that this Court does here- by vigorously protest and object to any proposal to discontinue railroad service between Kerrville and San Antonio, Texas; and BE IT FUR'T'HER RESOLVED that the Commissioners Court of Kerr County, Texas, does here- by petition the Honorable Interstate Commerce Commission to deny the present application for the proposed discontinuance of rail service to Kerrville, Texas, pending the outcome of existing good faith negotiations to acquire through purchase the section of railroad line proposed to be affected or, that in the alternative, the Southern Pacific Railroad be given the opportunity to reconsider of its request for discontinuance. That said election shall be held at the following place in said School District, and the following named persons are hereby appointed officers for said election: (a) At Divide School Building in Mountain Home, Texas, in said School District, with 1~1rs.
