MAPLES, SHERIFF TO APPOINT VERNON TOM GROSS AS DEPUTY SHERIFF & CENTER POINT NIGHTWATCHMAN On this the 13th day of July 1970, came on to be considered by the Court the applica- tion of Leon F. Maples, Sheriff, for authority to deputize Vernon Tom Gross as Deputy Sheriff and Center Point Nightwatchman. It appearing to the Court that said officer is entitled to said Deputy and that his application should be approved; therefore on motion made by Commissioner Burney, seconded by Commissioner Bartel, the Court unanimously approved that said officer be authorized to deputize Vernon Tom Gross as Deputy Sheriff and Center Point Nightwatchman and fixing his compensation at the rate of $2,040.00 per annum, plus automobile allowance of $360.00 per annum, effective the date of his qualification, the same being the 13th day of July 1970. o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o COURT ADJOURNED JULY 13, 1970 at 2:30 o'clock P.M. o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o COURT CONVENED IN SPECIAL SESSION JULY 22, 1970 at 9:00 o'clock A.M., with the Judge and all Commissioners present, and the Court having duly opened, the following proceedings were had: N0. 11162 ORDER REQUESTING TEXAS HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TO ENTER INTO JOINT RIGHT-OF-WAY PROCUREMEDIT AGREEMENT ON PORTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 16 SOUTH OF KERRVILLE On this the 22nd day of July, 1970, came on to be heard and considered by the Court the matter of procuring right-of-way for the upgrading of a portion of State Highway 16 south of Kerrville; and it appearing to the Court that the current as well as impending development of the land areas along State Highway 16 from its intersection with F. M. Road 689 southward has created a necessity for prompt procurement of needed right-of-way for the future upgrading oŁ State Highway 16 along the lines embodied in the Ten Year Highway Development Program for District No. 15 of the Texas Highway Department, it is ordered on motion by Commissioner Schwethelm, seconded by Commissioner Bartel and unanimously approved by the Court that Kerr County hereby expresses its desire to enter into a 50-50 Right-of- Way Procurement Program on that portion of Highway 16 from the point of its intersection 16b z~rith F. M.
