BE IT REMEMBLRED that there was begun and holden on the 10th
day of May 1971 at 10:00 o'clock A.M., in the City of Kerrville, a Regular Term of the
Commissioners' Court, with the following officers present:

N0. 11330 TAX EXEMPTIODT REQUES`P BY SCHREINER INSTITUTE APPROVED
On this the i0th day of May 1971, upon motion made by Commissioner Schwethelm, second-
ed by Comr.:issioner Stone, the Court unanimously approved that the request for continuance
of exempt tax status to all lands presently owned by Schreiner Institute in Kerr County be
granted for the year 1971.

N0. 11331 APPROVAL OF CLAIMS AND ACCOUN'T'S
On this the 10th day of May 1971, came on to be exami.red by the Court the various
claims and accounts against Kerr County and the respective Commissioners Precincts since
the last term of Court, w'r~ich claims and accounts were approved for payment by the Clcrk
and Treasurer, in amounts and out of Road and Bridge Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4, Lateral Road 1,2 &
3, General, Officers Salary, County Law Library, Jury, Kerr County Public Library and
General Road and Bridge Funds, as shown in the Minutes of Accounts allowed from page 1403
thru 1406, Voucher Nos.29000 thru 29132 , which were made a part hereof and of this order.
Motion made by Commissioner Bartel, seconded by Commissioner Schwethelm and unanimous-
ly approved by the Court.

N0. 11332 MONTHLY REPORTS OF COUNTY AND PRECINC`1' UFP'ICERS OF KERR COUNTY APPROVED
On this the 10th day of May 1971, came on to be examined by the Court the various
reports of April of the County and Precinct Officers of Kerr County, Texas, and the same
having been heard and considered by the Court, finds that said reports are true and correct
and should be approved; therefore, upon motion of Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commis-
sioner Sallee, the Court unanimously approved that the submitted reports be accepted and
filed with the County Clerk for future reference and subject to audit.

N0. 11333 ORDER REITEWIPiG FIRE FIGHTING CONTRACT WI`T'H 1'HE CITY OF KERRVILLE, TEXAS
Un this the 10th day of May, 1.971, came on to be heard and considered by the Court
the matter of providing Rural Fire Protection for Kerr County; and,
It appearing to the Court that the existing Fire Fighting Contract with the City of
Kerrville, Texas, will expire on May 31, 1971, and it further appearing to the Court that

the existing contract and the working arrangements agreed upon thereunder are providing
satisfactory rural fire protection for the citizens of Kerr County and that it would be to
the best interest of Kerr County to renew such contract for a one year period,
It is, therefore, ordered on motion by Commissioner Schwethelm, seconded by Commis-
sinner Stone and unanimously approved by the Court that the existing Fire Contract with
the City of Kerrville, Texas, as amended effective Junc 1, 1970, be renewed for a period
of one year cornmencing June 1, 1971 and ending May 31, 1972 as provided in Part C of the
existing contract, said renewal to become effective upon the joinder therein by the City
of Kerrville by letter acceptance as provided for by the terms of Part C, and it is further
ordered that the Clerk of this Court forward a certified copy of this order to the City of
Kerrville, Texas.

N0. 11334 DELIVERY OF SHERIFF'S AUTO ACL'EPTED AND PAYMENT OF CLAIM
On this the 10th day of May 1971, upon motion made by Commissioner Stone, seconded
by Commissioner Schwethelm, the Court unanimously approved that delivery of the Sheriff's

car be accepted and that Peterson Auto Company be paid $2,692.00 for same out of the General
Fund.

N0. 11335 ORDER REQUESTING TEXAS FIIGHWAY DEPARTPIENT TO RECOD?VEY UNUSED PORTION OF RIGHT-
OF-WAY PREVIOUSLY DONATED 1'0 THE STATE OF TEXAS BY JOSEPHIFIE REID NUTTER AND
HUSBANll, C. N. FLUTTER
On this the 10th day of Dlay, 1971, came on to be heard and considered by the Court
the matter of req~zesting the Texas Highway Department to reconvey to Josephine Reid Nutter
and husband, C. N. Flutter, a strip of unused right-of-way on the south side of State High-
way 27 east of Mountain Home; and it appearing to the Court that the said Josephine Reid
Nutter and husband, C. N. Nutter, did donate to the State of Texas for right-of-way
purposes a parcel of land comprising 3.36 acres out of Survey 1102 in the name of C. P.
Smith, as is evidenced by deed dated August 3, 1947 as is of record in Volume 82, Page 444
of the Kerr County Deed Records; and it further appearing to the Court that a portion of
the said 3.36 acres of land donated, comprising a strip approximately fifty feet wide and
three hundred feet long, has never actually been incorporated into the right-of-way of
State Highway 27 and that such strip of land has no foreseeable use for right-of-way
purposes,
It is ordered on motion by Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commissioner Bartel and
l unanimously approved by the Court that Kerr County hereby requests the Texas Highway
o-ll~'V^~, Department to cause sur.h surplus strip of land to be reconveyed by the State of Texas to
~Y the original donors for the reasons herein set forth.

On this the 10th day of May 1971, came on to be examined by the Court Certificate
of Cancellation, Certificate No. 20389, presented to the Court by Juanita Reeves, Tax
-- Assessor-Collector of Kerr County, and it appearing to the Court that the reasons set out
in said Certificate for the cancellation of taxes are good and sufficient; it is there-
fore ordered by the Court that the said certificate be granted and signed by the County
Judge.
