On this the 12th day of February 1973, upon motion made by Commissioner Schwethelm,
seconded by Commissioner Stone, the Court unanimously approved that the salary of E. C.
Puryear, Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 4, be set at $2400.00 per annum, effective
February 12, 1973, payable out of Officers Salary Fund.

On this the 12th day of February 1973, came on to be examined by the Court the various
claims and accounts against Kerr County and the respective Commissioners Precincts since
the last term of Court, which claims and accounts were approved for payment by the Clerk
and Treasurer, in amounts and out of Road ~ Bridge Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4, General, Officers
Salary, Jury, Revenue Sharing Trust Fund, Kerr County Public Library, Permanent Improve-
ment, General Road & Bridge, County Law Library and F. M. 480 Right-of-Way Funds, as shown
in the Minutes of Accounts Allowed from page 1567 thru 1570 , Voucher Nos. 34251 thru
34399 , which were made a part hereof and of this order.
Motion made by Commissioner Bartel, seconded by Commissioner Sallee and unanimously
approved by the Court.

N0. 11781 ORDER COMMITMENT OF FUNDS FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING GRANT FOR PROPOSED
CITX-COUNTY JAIL FACILITY

COUNTY OF KERR ~
WHEREAS, Kerr County, Texas, desires to improve its jail facilities; doing so jointly
and in cooperation with the City of Kerrville, Texas; and

WHEREAS, Kerr County, Texas, joined by the City of Kerrville, Texas, has made applica-
tion to the Texas Criminal Justice Council for a grant of $11,250.00 in connection with
planning improvements for City and County jail facilities; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that Kerr County, Texas, obligate funds to meet its share
of the cost of the planning project: Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners Court of Kerr County, Texas, acting jointly and in
conjunction with the City of Kerrville, Texas, that an amount equal to twenty-five (25)
per cent of the cost of the project be and it is hereby obligated and appropriated to cover
said City and County's share of the cost of said project.
Motion made by Commissioner Sallee, seconded by Commissioner Bartel and ADOPTED AND
APPROVED this 12th day of February, 1973.

N0. 11782 ORDER AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF ABANDONED RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY ABUTTING CITY-
COUNTY AIRPORT PROPERTY
On this the 12th day of February, 1973, came on to be heard and considered by the Court,
the proposal of the Southern Pacific Transportation Company, acting by and through its
Agent and Attorney-in-fact, J. M. Speer, Sr., to sell to Kerr County and the City of
Kerrville the portion of abandoned Railroad Right-of-Way abutting the jointly owned City-
County Airport Property and fronting on State Highway 27 in which the Railroad is vested
with fee title and it appearing to the Court that such owned right-of-way comprises two
parcels of land comprising 11.26 acres of land out of Surveys 43, 44, 71, 72 and 1921 which
separate the Airport Property from the North Right-of-Way line of State Highway 27 and
that it would be advantageous to Kerr County and the City of Kerrville to acquire owner-
ship to the lands aforesaid, it is ordered on motion by Commissioner Stone, seconded by
Commissioner Schwethelm and unanimously approved by the Court that Kerr County hereby
accepts the proposal of the Southern Pacific Transportation Company, successors in title
to the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway Company to convey by special warranty deed
its currently existing ownership in the 11.26 acres of land aforesaid (this being subject
to the concurrence of the City of Kerrville herein) to the City of Kerrville and Kerr
County for a cash consideration of $9,571.00, of which one-half is to be paid by Kerr ~~Ji
County and one-half is to be paid by the City of Kerrville, and it is further ordered
that the Clerk and the Treasurer be authorized to draw a voucher in the amount of $4,785.50
on the Revenue Sharing Trust Fund, payable to Southern Pacific Transportation Company,
which voucher is to be delivered concurrently with a payment of like amount by the City
of Kerrville and upon receipt of the seller's properly executed special warranty deed.
