On this the 9th day of July 1973, upon motion made by Commissioner Schwethelm, second-
ed by Commissioner Sallee, tYie Court unanimously approved <in order creating Jail Planning
Fund, as a separate account on the books of the Treasurer and that the County Clerk and
County Treasurer be, and are hereby authorized to transfer the sum of X1,875.00 from the
General Fund to the Jail Planning Fund.

On this the 16th day of July, 1973, came on to be heard and considered by the Court
the matter of acquiring a parcel of land from Charles M. Moncrief and wife, Laverne F.
N":oncrief, required for right of way for the reconstruction of a portion of State Highway
16, and it appearing to the Court that the landowners concerned have expressed a willing-
ness to accept a prior letter offer made on behalf of Kerr County; it is ordered on motion
by Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commissioner Bartel and unanimously approved by the
Court that Kerr County offers to pay to Charles P~T. Moncrief and wife, Laverr_e F. Monerief,
the sum of X1,600.00 as compensation and consideration for their conveyance to the State
of Texas of a parcel of land comprising 0.489 acres of land out of Survey 147, Nathaniel
Hoyt, with payment being made upon approval for filing and recordation by the Texae High-
o;ay Department of their properly executed Right of Way Deed, which approval shall be

conditioned upon final title approval and payment of all ad valorem taxes, including
current taxes heretofore assessed against the property conveyed, and it is further ordered
that the Clerk and the Treasurer be authorized to draw a voucher on the Highway 16 Right-
of-Way Fund in the amount of 31,600.00, payable to Charles PI. Moncrief and Laverne F.
Moncrief, which voucher shall. be delivered to them upon final approval for filing and
recordation by the Texas Highway Department of their Right of 4Jay Deed as aforesaid.

On this the 20th day of July 1973, came on to be considered by the Court the applica-
tion of E. A. Schreiber, Sheriff, for authority to appoint and deputize Paul E. Fields
as Deputy Sheriff oŁ Kerr County, Texas and it appearing to the Court that said applica-
tion should be approved; therefore, upon motion made by Commissioner Schwethelm, seconded
by Commissioner Stone, the Court unanimously approved that said officer be authorized to
deputize Paul E. Fields as Deputy Sheriff of Kerr County, Texas, effective the date of
his qualification, the same being the 20th day of July 1973, at a salary of 37200.00 per
annum, payable out of Revenue Sharing Trust Fund.
