Specifications are on file in the office of the County Clerk. Bid price to include trade-in of one 1971 Chevrolet 4-Door Sedan and one 1972 Chevrolet 4-Door Sedan, less radio and other special police equipment. Bids to be received until 10:00 o'clock A. WALTERS, FOR RIGHT OF WAY FOR STATE HIGHWAY 16 On this the 12th day of November, 1973, came on to be heard and considered by the Court the matter of acquiring a parcel o£ land £rom Grady Tuck, Jr. and wife, Jean Tuck, and Roland Walters and wife, Mary A. Walters, required for right of way for the reconstruction of a portion of State Highway 16, and it appearing to the Court that the landowners concerned have expressed a willingness to accept a prior verbal offer made on behalf of Kerr County, it is ordered on motion by Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commissioner Sallee and unanimously approved by the Court that Kerr County offers to pay the aforesaid Grady Tuck, Jr., et ux, and Roland Walters, et ux, the sum of $11,100.00 as compensation for land, damages and sever- ance damages for their conveyance to the State of Texas of a parcel of land comprising 9.611 acres of land out of Survey 148, J. A. Southmayd, and 1907, August Burow, with payment being made upon approval for filing and recordation by the Texas Highway Department of their proper- ly executed right of way deed, together with a partial release for outstanding lien by the Chas. Schreiner Bank of Kerrville, Texas, which approval shall be conditioned on final title approval and payment of all ad valorem taxes, including current taxes heretofore assessed -' against the property conveyed; and in addition to the foregoing, Kerr County will, after the reconstruction and relocation of State Highway 16, seek to have the Texas Highway Department close and abandon as a public roadway those portions of the present right of way of said Highway 16 which abut the remainders of the lands presently owned by the aforesaid landowners and which lie outside the relocated new right of way and thereafter seek to have legal title to said abandoned right of way vested in the aforesaid landowners to the extent that their predecessors in title purportedly donated the same to the State of Texas in the year 1941, and it is further ordered that the Clerk and the Treasurer be authorized to draw a voucher ~ on the Highway 16 right of way fund in the amount of $11,100.00 payable to Grady Tuck, Jr., Jean Tuck, Roland Walters and Mary A. SMITH, JR., AS DEPUTY SHERIFF OF KERR COUNTY, TEXAS On this the 12th day of November 1973, upon motion made by Commissioner Sallee, seconded by Commissioner Bartel, the Court unanimously approved that the resignation of James L. Smith, Jr., as Deputy Sheriff of Kerr County, Texas, be confirmed, effective October 31, 1973. o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o NO, 11981 ORDER GRANTING FINAL APPROVAL FOR STUDY AND PLANNING OF PROPOSED COUNTY-CITY JAIL On this the 12th day of November, 1973, came on to be considered by the Court for final approval the planning and design study for the proposed County-City jail and it appearing to the Court that Lester B. Whitton and A. B. Swank have submitted their study and recommenda- tion in final printed form at a joint session of the Commissioners Court of Kerr County and the City Council of the City of Kerrville, and it appearing to the Court, after further study of the submitted report, that Lester B. Whitton and A. B. Swank, together with their con- sultants, have completed their rendition of professional services as per contract and in a commendable manner, it is ordered on motion by Commissioner Bartel, seconded by Commissioner Sallee and unanimously approved by the Court that Kerr County does hereby grant its final approval to the jail planning and design study as aforesaid, doing so subject to concurrence therein by the City Council of the City of Kerrville. o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o NO, 11982 ORDER DIRECTING CANCELLATION OF CERTIFICATE NO, 261 On this the 12th day of October 1973, came on to be examined by the Court Certificates of Cancellation, Certificate No. 261, presented to the Court by Juanita Reeves, Tax Assessor- Collector of Kerr County, and it appearing to the Court that the reasons set out in said Certificate for the cancellation of taxes are good and sufficient; it is therefore ordered by the Court that the said certificate be granted and signed by the County Judge. Motion made by Commissioner Sallee, seconded by Commissioner Stone and unanimously approved by the Court. o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o NO. 11983 ORDER AUTHORIZING INVESTMENT OF SURPLUS FUNDS OUT OF JURY FUND, F. M. & LATERAL ROAD FUND, ROAD AND BRIDGE FUND, ROAD & BRIDGE NO. 4 FUND, GENERAL FUND AND ROAD & BRIDGE NO. 2 FUND On this the 12th day of November 1973, came on to be heard and considered by the Court the matter of investing certain funds currently on deposit in the following funds and in the amounts listed: Jury Fund F. M. & Later Road & Bridge Road & Bridge General Fund Road & Bridge $10,000.00 al Road Fund $35,000.00 Fund $25,000.00 No. 4 Fund $10,000.00 $80,000.00 No. 2 Fund S10,000.00 and that these funds should be invested as soon as current Certificates of Deposits mature and the proceeds thereof are deposited to the credit of Kerr County, pending possible need of these funds for expenditure, it is ordered on motion by Commissioner Bartel, seconded by Commissioner Sallee and unanimously approved by the Court that the sum of $10,000.00 out of Jury Fund, $35,000.00 out of F. M. & Lateral Road Fund, $25,000.00 out of Road & Bridge Fund, $10,000.00 out of Road & Bridge No. 4 Fund, $80,000.00 out of General Fund and $10,000.00 out of Road & Bridge No. 2 Fund be invested in Interest Bearing Certificates of Deposits with the Chas. Schreiner Bank, which investments shall be made as soon as practic- ~~ able and that such Certificates of Deposits shall be for a period of 90 days from date of .-- investment. And it is further ordered that the Clerk and the Treasurer be authorized to draw proper vouchers on the funds aforementioned and in the amounts above set forth to effect the afore- said investments with the Chas.
