ACCOUNT WITH BOARD OF COUNTY AND DISTRICT ROAD INDEBTEDNESS
On this the 12th day of August 1974, it coming to the attention oŁ the Court that there -
will be surplus Funds in the amount of 519,945.67 credited to the lateral road account of
Kerr County by the Board of County and District Road Indebtedness of the State of Texas and
it appearing to the Court that said funds should properly be expended for the purpose of
construction and improvement of lateral roads within Kerr County, it is ordered on motion
by Commissioner Schwethelm, seconded by Commissioner Sallee and unanimously approved by the
Court that Kerr County request the Board of County and District Road Indebtedness to forward
the said funds to the Treasurer of Kerr County upon their becoming available; and it is
Further ordered that all such funds are here and now earmarked, set aside and designated to
be used by Kerr County for the purpose of construction and improvement of Kerr County Lateral
Roads, and the Treasurer of Kerr County be directed to deposit such funds upon their receipt
in the proper fund in the County Depository and it is further ordered that the County Clerk
prepare a certified copy of this order and forward the same to the Board of County and

by Commissioner Bartel, the Court unanimously approved the salary increase of Ann Stapp,
Deputy Tax Assessor/Collector of Kerr County, Texas, effective as of August 1, 1974 at
$5520.00 per annum, payable out of Revenue Sharing Trust Fund.

ON THIS the 12th day of August, A. D, 1974, came on for consideration by the Commis-
sinners Court of Kerr County, Texas, the matter of consenting to the appointment of an
Assistant County Attorney to serve at a rate of compensation to be set by the Commissioners
Court of Kerr County, Texas, at the special instance and request of and for a period of time
to be determined by County Attorney, James C. Nogues; and it appearing that a need exists
for an Assistant County Attorney; and it appearing that the said James C. Nogues, County
Attorney, has recommended the appointment of Stephen B, Ables, to the office of Assistant
County Attorney; and it appearing that the said Stephen B, Ables is duly licensed and authoriz-
ed to practice as an attorney and counselor at law in all the Courts of the State of Texas;
and it appearing that the County Attorney is authorized and empowered under the terms and
provisions of Art. 331, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, to make such an appointment with
the consent oŁ the Commissioners Court;
THEREFORE, upon the motion of Commissioner Bartel and second by Commissioner Sallee,

and unanimously approved by the Court, it is hereby ordered that the Commissioners Court
of Kerr County grant its consent to the appointment of Stephen B. Ables to the office of
Assistant County Attorney; the said Stephen B. Ables to have the same powers and authority
as the County Attorney and to serve at the expense and will of the said County Attorney.
This consent is subject, however, to the said Stephen B. Ables taking the official oath of
office and depositing it in the office of the County Clerk.
