said application should be approved; therefore, upon motion made by Commissioner Schwethelm,
seconded by Commissioner Stone, the Court unanimously approved that said officer be authoriz-
ed to deputize K. D. Shores as Deputy Sheriff of Kerr County, Texas, at a salary of $7800.00
per annum, effective the date of his qualification, the same being August 28, 1974, payable
out of Revenue Sharing Trust Fund.

NO. 12212 ADOPTION OF BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 1975
On this the 30th day of August 1974, came on to be considered by the Court the public
hearing in the matter of the adoption of the County Budget for the year 1975. It appearing
to the Court that proper notices have been published in the official newspaper of Kerr County
in the City of Kerrville, Texas, for one week prior to the hearing date hereof, and after
thorough examination by the Court and the consideration of the public interest of the
community, the Court is of the opinion that the proposed budget should be approved.
Therefore, on motion made by Commissioner Schwethelm, seconded by Commissioner Bartel,
the Court unanimously approved the adoption of the County Budget for 1975.

On this the 30th day of August, 1974, came on to be heard and considered by the Court

the matter of acquiring a parcel of land designated by the Texas Highway Department as right
of way parcel no. 26J from Russell J. Logan and wife, Patricia Lynn Logan, for the reconstruc-
tion of State Highway 16, and it appearing to the Court that, as a result of prior negotia-
tions an agreed consideration for the conveyance of the said Parcel No. 26J has been arrived
at, it is ordered on motion by Commissioner Bartel, seconded by Commissioner Schwethelm, and
unanimously approved by the Court that Kerr County offers to pay Russell J. Logan and wife,
Patricia Lynn Logan, the sum of $1,100.00 as compensation for land and damages for their
conveyance to the State of Texas a parcel of land comprising 0.253 acres out of Survey~No.
400, J. S. Lester, with payment being made upon approval for filing and recordation by the
Texas Highway Department of their properly executed right of way deed, together with a
partial release of outstanding liens by the First National Bank of Kerrville, and by the
Chas. Schreiner Bank of Kerrville, Texas, which approval shall be conditioned on final title
approval and payment of all ad valorem taxes, including current taxes heretofore assessed
against the property conveyed, and it is further ordered that the Clerk and the Treasurer be
authorized to draw a voucher on the Highway 16 right of way fund in the amount of $1,100.00
payable to Russell J. Logan, Patricia Lynn Logan, First National Bank of Kerrville, and Chas.
Schreiner Bank, which voucher shall be delivered upon final approval for filing and recorda-
tion by the Texas Highway Department of the right of way deed and partial releases of liens
as aforesaid.
