On this the 14th day of October 1974, upon motion made by Commissioner Sallee, seconded --
by Commissioner Bartel, it was unanimously approved by the Court that the County Judge be
authorized to advertise for bids for three 1975 Model 4-Door Sedans for the Kerr County
Sheriff's Department.
Bid price to include trade-in of two 1973 Chevrolet 4-Door Sedans and one 1973 Plymouth
4 Door Sedan, less radio and other special police equipment.
Specifications are on file at the office of the County Clerk of Kerr County, Texas.
Bids to be received until 10:00 o'clock A. h1., November 11, 1974, at which time all bids
will be publicly opened and read.
Kerr County reserves the r3.ght to reject any and all bids.
Notices to be published October 17 and October 24, 1974.

On this the 14th day of October 1974, upon motion made by Commissioner Stone, seconded
by Commissioner Bartel, the Court unanimously approved the extension of a monthly allowance
of Nannie Sherman in the amount of $40.00, for a period of six months, effective November 1,
1974.

NO. 12240 ORDER GRANTING SHERIFF ALLOWANCE OF $2.50 PER DAY FOR PRISONERS BOAKD
On this the 14th day of October 1974, upon motion made by Commissioner Bartel, seconded
by Commissioner Sallee, the Court unanimously approved that the Sheriff of Kerr County, Texas,
be allowed $2.50 per day for prisoners board, retroactive to October 1, 1974.

TO CONVEY SAID PROPERTY TO THE ABUTTING LANI)OWNEKS
On this the 14th day of October 1974, upon motion made by Commissioner Sallee, seconded
by Commissioner Stone, the Court unanimously approved the following resolution:
RESOLUTION
REQUESTING THE TEXAS HIGHWAY COMMISSION TO DECLARE A CERTAIN
UNUSED PORTION OF FARM TO MARKET ROAD 1338 RIGHT OF WAY
SURPLUS AND TO CONVEY SAID PROPERTY TO TFiE ABUTTING LANDOWNERS
WHEREAS, by deed dated January 23, 1952, recorded in Volume 93, at page 228 of the
Deed Records of Kerr County, Texas, a certain 11.48 acre tract of land ca as donated to the
State of Texas by ELb1ER STIELER and wife, IRENE STIELER for the construction of Farm to
Market Road 1338;
WHEF2EA5, due to the relocation of a portion of said Farm to Market Road 1338 at its
intersection with the newly constructed Interstate Highway 10 facility, 1.II14 acres out of-
said 11.48 acre tract, said 1.814 acres being more particularly described by metes and bounds
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, was removed from the State Eiighway System by Texas Highway
Commission Minute Order No. 66207 dated A1ay 1, 1972;
WHEREAS said 1.814 acre tract is no longer needed for the use of citizens as a road;
IT IS THEREFORE REQUESTED by the Commissioners' Court of Kerr County, Texas, at its ._.
regular meeting, that the Texas Highway Commission pass an appropriate Minute Order declaring
said 1.814 acre tract of land to be surplus right of way and thereby requesting the Governor
of the State of Texas to execute a quitclaim by and on behalf of the State of Texas,
releasing all its right, title and interest in and to said tract of land back to said ELMER
STIELER and wife, IP.ENE STIELER, being the sole abutting landowners.
IT IS FURTHER REQUESTED AND RECOMMENDED by said Court that the usual procedures in
offering such surplus tracts for sale, preparation of formal appraisals and all other pro-
cedural requisites to the disposition of such property be in this instance waived by the
State, and that the said quitclaim be executed and delivered to the said ELMER STIELER and
wife, IRENE STIELER, without payment of fees or other consideration by them or either of
them.

of land, said 1.814 acres being out of the Henry Fisher Survey No. 565, Abstract No. 139,
Kerr County Texas, said 11.48 acre tract being the same land described in a deed from Elmer
Stieler, et ux to State of Texas dated January 23, 1957., recorded in Volume 93, Page 228,
Deed Records of Kerr County, Texas, said 1.814 acres being more particularly described by
metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the Southeast Right of Ylay line of existing Farm to Market
Highway No. 1338 with the Northwest Right of Way line of abandoned Farm to Plarket Highway

D1OTION was made by Commissioner Bartel and seconded by Commissioner Sallee that the Kerr
County Commissioners' Court accept the provisions contained in Minute Order No. 69320 passed
by the State Highway Commission on October 1, 1974 for the improvement by the Texas Highway
Department of the roads described below and that Kerr County agrees to furnish all required
right-of-way free of cost to the State:
On Interstate Highway 10 near Kerrville, extend Frontage Road from its present terminus
to State Highway 16, a distance of approximately 0.2 mile.

Y7HEREAS, in KECtR COUNTY on INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 10 near Kerrville, local officials have
requested extension of a Frontage Road from its present terminus to State Ciighway 16, a
distance of approximately 0.2 mile; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that construction of the requested frontage road would
materially add to the traffic safety on this facility; and
bdHEREAS, it is the desire of the Texas Highway Department to assist the County in such work;
