On this the 26th day of October 1978, upon motion made by Commissioner Stone, seconded
by Commissioner Lich, the Court unanimously accepted the bid of Folger Adam Company for Jail
Equipment and Furnishings, in the total amount of $14235.00, as recommended by A. B. Swank,
F.A.I.A. and Lester B. 6~Thitton, PE, for the Kerr County Correction-Detention Facility. (Copy
of Bid Proposal on file in the County Clerk's Office).

On this the 26th day of October 1978, upon motion made by Commissioner Stone, seconded
by Commissioner Sallee, the Court unanimously approved acceptance of the Bid of Southern Steel
Company to furnish and install padding for the Mental Holding Cell No. 262 of the I:err County
Correction/Detention Facility, in the total amount of $5,970.00, as recommended by A. B.
Swank, FAIA and Lester B. L4hitton, P.E. (Copy of Bid Proposal on file in the County Clerk's
Office).

NO. 13489 APPROVAL OF BID PROPOSAL OF PAUL READER TO INSTALL JAIL EQUIPMENT AND

by Commissioner Sallee, the Court unanimously approved the bid proposal of Paul Reader, in
the amount of $6,923.00, to install jail equipment and furnishings for the Kerr County
Correction/Detention Facility, as recommended by A. B. Swank, FAIA and Lester B. L9hitton, P.E.

On this the 26th day of October 1978, upon motion made by Commissioner Stone, seconded
by Commissioner Lich, the Court unanimously approved that the resignation of Stephen B. Ables

October 31, 1978, with regret.

NO. 13491 CONSENT TO THE APPOINTMENT TO FILL A VACANCY IiQ THE OFFICE OF ASSISTANT COUNTY
ATTORNEY
On this the 26th day of October, 1978, came on to be considered by the Commissioners'
Court of Kerr County, Texas, the matter of consenting to the appointment to fill a vacancy
in the office of Assistant County Attorney to serve at a rate of compensation to be set by the
Commissioners' Court of Kerr County, Texas, at the special instance and request of and for
a period of time to be determined by County Attorney James C. Nogues; and it appearing that
a need exists to fill the vacancy in the office of Assistant County Attorney which will exist
after October 31, 1978; and it appearing that the said James C. Nogues, County Attorney, has
recommended the appointment of Scott S. Parker to the office of Assistant County Attorney
effective November 1, 1978; and it further appearing that the said Scott S. Parker is duly
licensed and authorized to practice as an attorney and counselor at law in all the Courts of
the State of Texas; and it further appearing that the County Attorney is authorized and
empowered under the terms and provisions of Art. 331, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, to make
such an appointment with the consent of the Commissioners Court; it is hereby ordered upon
motion of Commissioner Sallee, seconded by Commissioner Lich, and unanimously approved by the
that the Commissioners'
Court/of I:err County grant its consent to the appointment of Scott S. Parker to the office
of Assistant County Attorney effective November 1, 1978; the said Scott S. Parker to have
the same powers and authority as the County Attorney and to serve at the will of the said
County Attorney. This consent is subject, however, to the said Scott S. Parker taking the
official oath of office and depositing it in the office of the County Clerk; and it is further
ordered that his compensation is fixed at $6,000.00 per annum effective date of qualification,
payable out of Officers Salary Fund of Kerr County.

NO. 13492 APPROVAL OF CLAIM OF EMMIE M. MUENKER, COUNTY CLERK, FOR POSTAGE
On this the 26th day of October 1978, upon motion made by Commissioner Stone, seconded
by Commissioner Sallee, the Court unanimously approved the claim of Emmie M. Muenker, County
Clerk, for postage for the General Election, payable out of the General Fund, in the amount
of $50.00.
