NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Kerr County will receive sealed bids addressed to the Kerr
County Commissioners' Court for the following equipment:
One 1978 Model two ton dump truck - cab and chassis
for use by Kerr County Precinct ldo. 1, less trade-in
of one 1966 Chevrolet 2 ton Cab & Chassis, as is
where is, together with additional used dump bed and
hydraulic equipment.
One 1978 Model two ton dump truck - cab and chassis
for use by Icerr County Precinct No. 3, Less trade in
of one 1964 Chevrolet 2 ton truck dump truck, as is,
where is.
Alternate bids for either or both units without trade-
in will be considered.
Bids to be received until 10:00 o'clock A. M., March 13th,
1978, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read.
Bids must be for equipment which complies with specifications
on file in the office of the County Clerk of Kerr County, Texas.
Kerr County reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
Publication of this notice and awarding of bids shall be in
compliance with and subject to the terms of Article 2632, Texas
Civil Statutes.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR TWO 1978 MODEL TWO-TON TRUCKS, CABS AND CHASSIS'
TO BE PURCHASED BY KERB COUNTY FOR USE OF COMMISSIONERS' PRECINCTS
NOS. 3 and 1
Unit No. 1 for use of Commissioners' Precinct No. 3
1. Cab and chassis shall be rated by manufacturer as 2-ton capacity
with minimum G.V.W. rating of 16,000 and approximate payload
capacity of 10,000. (Chassis to be equipped with 4 yard Galion
Dump Bed and Hydraulic System).
2. Unit to be equipped with 8 cylinder heavy duty engine of at least
345 cubic inch displacement rating with extra cooling radiator.
3. Wheel base 132" minimum length and 69" minimum length from cab to
center of rear axle.
4. Unit to be equipped with power steering.
5. Unit to be equipped with 2 speed rear axle rated at 15,000 lb.
capacity.
6. Front axle to be rated at a minimum of 5,000 lbs.
7. Unit to be equipped with 2 West Coast rear view mirrors and with
turn signal lights as required by law.
8. Front springs to be rated at minimum of 4,000 lbs. and rear springs
at 10,600 lbs. minimum. Auxiliary rear springs shall also be
included and installed.
9. Unit to be equipped with oil filter and 4-speed transmission with
power take-off.
10. Heavy duty battery and alternator.
11. Unit to be equipped with standard heater and defroster.
12. Unit to be equipped with 720 x 6.5 wheel rims.
13. Unit to be equipped with 7 nylon tube type tires, 10 ply rating,
and 7 tubes, tire size 8.25 x 20.
14. Unit to be green in color.
15. Unit to bear current Motor Vehicle Inspection Sticker.
Bid No. 1 shall be for the unit furnished completely as described,
deli- v d to the buyer, less federal and state taxes, and shall include
trade-in allowance for a 1964 Chevrolet 2 ton truck with dump body,
Serial No. 4C613S176391, as is where is.
Alternate Bid - Same as above, but without trade-in will be considered.
Unit No. 2 for use of Commissioners' Precinct No. 1
Same specifications as Unit No. 1, except bid shall include trade-in
allowance for a 1966 Chevrolet 2 ton Cab & Chassis, as is where is,
Serial No. C6136S154387, together with used 4 yard Galion Dump Bed and
Hydraulic System, presently mounted on 1968 Chevrolet Chassis, which items
will be transferred to 1966 Chassis by Kerr County at time of delivery of
new unit.
Alternate Bid - Same as above, but without trade-in will be considered.
Kerr County reserves the right to reject any and all bids as to either
or both units. Sealed bids will be accepted until 10:00 o'clock A. M.,
March 13th, 1978, at which time they will be publicly opened a*+d read.
A separate bid for each unit is required. File all bids with the County
Clerk of Kerr County, Texas.
