KERB COUNTY, TEXAS o-o-o-O-o-o-o-o-o-o NO. 13800 - RE: GRANT APPLICATION FOR FUNDING OF AN ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY FOR THE 216th JUDICIAL DISTRICT WHEREAS, the construction of IH-10 and other factors have contributed to the rapid growth of Kerr County; and WHEREAS, beginning July 1, 1978 the Speedy Trial Act became effective requiring disposi- tion of felony cases within 120 days; and WHEREAS, Kerr County has expressed the need for an Assistant District Attorney to enable Kerr County to efficiently process criminal cases and to comply with the Speedy Trial Act; and, WHEREAS, Kerr County has applied for a grant from the Texas Criminal Justice Division for funding of $18,533.00 to be matched with $502.00, a cash contribution of 25g of equipment cost; and WHEREAS, Kerr County shall not be liable nor expected to provide further funds therefor; and WHEREAS, said Criminal Justice Division has indicated its willingness to fund the Distric~ Attorney's office for the said project; and WHEREAS, the said grant is and shall be a one-year project expiring in 1980, thus not requiring further obligation on the part of Kerr County; NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED that Kerr County make application to the Criminal Justice Division for the funding of the one year project KERR COUNTY ASSISTANT JUDICIAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY, and authorized the County Judge of Kerr County, Texas to submit the application to the Criminal Justice Division.
