NO. 13800 - RE: GRANT APPLICATION FOR FUNDING OF AN ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY FOR THE
216th JUDICIAL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the construction of IH-10 and other factors have contributed to the rapid growth.
of Kerr County; and
WHEREAS, beginning July 1, 1978 the Speedy Trial Act became effective requiring disposi-
,_, tion of felony cases within 120 days; and
WHEREAS, Kerr County has expressed the need for an Assistant District Attorney to enable
Kerr County to efficiently process criminal cases and to comply with the Speedy Trial Act; and.,
WHEREAS,	Kerr County	has	applied for a grant from	the Texas Criminal	Justice	Division
for funding of	$18,533.00	to	be matched with $502.00, a	cash contribution	of 25~	of equipment
cost; and
WHEREAS, Kerr County shall not be liable nor expected to provide further funds therefor;
and
WHEREAS, said Criminal Justice Division has indicated its willingness to fund the Districts
Attorney's office for the said project; and
WHEREAS, the said grant is and shall be a one-year project expiring in 1980, thus not
requiring further obligation on the part of Kerr County;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED that Kerr County make application to the Criminal Justice
Division for the funding of the one year project KERB COUNTY ASSISTANT JUDICIAL DISTRICT
ATTORNEY, and authorized the County Judge of Kerr County, Texas to submit the application to
the Criminal Justice Division.
On motion by Commissioner Speakmon, seconded by Commissioner Guthrie, the foregoing
Resolution was unanimously approved by the Kerr County Commissioners' Court on the 10th day
of September, 1979.

On this the 10th day of September, 1979 came on to be heard and considered by the Court
the matter of approval oŁ an agreement whereby O. B. Walker and wife, Reseda A. Walker, have
proposed to convey a parcel of new right of way for the reconstruction of a portion of F. M.
Road 479 which comprises 2.510 acres out of Survey 1848 H. E. & W.T.R. R. Co, in exchange_fos ,

the reconveyance to them by the State of Texas of an adjacent 2.612 acre parcel of existing
F. M. 479 right of way proposed to be abandoned following the construction of the relocated
portion of F. M. Road 479; and it appearing to the Court that Kerr County has heretofore
included the aforesaid proposed right of way exchange as a portion of its negotiations for
the acquisition of the new parcel of right of way concerned and that the approval of Kerr
County of the proposed exchange agreement is required by law, it is ordered on motion by
Commissioner Guthrie, seconded by Commissioner Speakmon, and unanimously approved by the
Court that Kerr County approve the aforesaid right of way exchange agreement between O. B.
Walker and wife, Reseda A. L4alker, and the State of Texas, and that the County Judge be
authorized to sign the same on behalf of Kerr County.

portion of F. M. Road 479; and it appearing to the Court that Kerr County has heretofore
included the aforesaid proposed right of way exchange as a portion of its negotiations for
the acquisition of the new parcel of right of way concerned and that the approval of Kerr
County of the proposed exchange agreement is required by law, it is ordered on motion by
Commissioner Guthrie, seconded by Commissioner Lich, and unanimously approved by the Court

NO. 13803 APPROVAL OF PROPOSED FIRE FIGHTING AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CLTX OF KERRVILLE
AND KERR COUNTY
On this the 10th day of September 1979, upon motion made by Commissioner Speakmon,
seconded by Commissioner Garrett, the Court unanimously approved the Proposed Fire Fighting
Agreement, by and between the City of Kerrville and Kerr County, for a period of one year,
beginning on the 1st day of October 1979 and terminating on •the 30th day of September 1980,
subject to the concurrence by the City of Kerrville.
