ORDER NO. 13800 WHEREAS, the construction of IH-10 and other factors have con- tributed to the rapid growth of Kerr County; and WHEREAS, beginning July 1, 1978 the Speedy Trial Act became effective requiring disposition of felony cases within 120 days; and WHEREAS, Kerr County has expressed the need for an Assistant District Attorney to enable Kerr County to efficiently process criminal cases and to comply with the Speedy Trial Act; and, WHEREAS, Kerr County has applied for a grant from the Texas Criminal Justice Division for funding of $18, 533.00 to be matched with $502.00, a cash contribution of 25P/o of equipment cost; and WHEREAS, Kerr County shall not be liable nor expected to provide further funds therefor; and WHEREAS, said Criminal Justice Division has indicated its willing- ness to fund the District Attorney's office for the said project; and WHEREAS, the said grant is and shall be a one-year project expiring in 1980, thus not requiring further obligation on the part of Kerr County; NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED that Kerr County make application to the Criminal Justice Division for the funding of the one year project KERR COUNTY ASSISTANT JUDICIAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY, and authorizes the County Judge of Kerr County, Texas to submit the application to the Criminal Justice Division.
