COUNTY, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1982
On this the 14th day of December, 1981, came on to be heard and considered by the Court ~„
the matter of redefining the boundaries of the four County Commissioners' Precincts of Kerr
County, and it appearing to the Court that pursuant to Article 5, Section 18, of the Constitu-
tion of the State of Texas, the Commissioners Court shall, from time to time, for the con-
venience of the people, divide Kerr County into four Commissioners' Precincts, and it further
appearing to the Court that the proposed redefinition of the boundaries of the four Commis-
sioners' Precincts of Kerr County as adopted by the Commissioners' Court of Kerr County on
June 29, 1981, pursuant to Order No. 14387 entered that date has been granted preclearance
by the United States Department of Justice on December 4, 1981, pursuant to Section 5 of the
Voting Rights Act of 1965, it is ordered on motion by Commissioner Lich, seconded by Commis-
sioner Speakmon, with Commissioners Speakmon, Lich and Guthrie and County Judge Neunhoffer
voting "AYE" and Commissioner Holland "ABSTAINING" from voting, said motion carrying by a
majority vote and approved by the Court that Kerr County shall be, as of the effective date
of this order, divided into four Commissioners' Precincts as hereinafter described by metes
and bounds, and that, pursuant to the authority contained in Article 23512, Vernon's Annotat-
ed Texas Civil Statutes, the provisions of this order shall become effective on January 1,
1982, and be in effect thereafter until altered by proper and lawful order or statute.
The boundaries of the four Commissioners' Precincts of Kerr County are hereby defined
effective January 1, 1982, by metes and bounds as follows:
CONII~IISSIONERS' PRECINCT ONE
Beginning at the point where the east right of way line of State Highway 16 intersects
the common boundary line of Kerr and Gillespie Counties;
Thence southwesterly with the east right of way line of State Highway 16 to the point of
its intersection with the south right of way line of Interstate Highway 10 as platted by the
Texas Highway Department;
Thence in a westerly direction with the south right of way line of said Interstate 10 to
the point of its intersection with the centerline of Town Creek;
Thence down the centerline of Town Creek to the point of its intersection with the west -~
line of a section of the old Town Creek Road situated on the south bank of Town Creek in
Sur. 120, W. Fosgate;
Thence with the west and southwest line of the said old Town Creek Road to the point
where it again intersects the centerline of Town Creek;

which marks the intersection of the centerline of Town Creek with a line which is a projection

Article 2.04 (a), Texas Election Code and pursuant to preclearance granted by the United
States Department of Justice on December 4, 1981 pursuant to Section 5 of the Voting Rights
Act of 1965, that the Commissioners Court of Kerr County, did at its regular December, 1981
Term order the following changes in the boundaries and numerical redesignation of certain
