ORDER NO. ii,Zgti ORDER DEFERRING APPOINTMENT OF ELECTION JUDGES PENDING REALIGNMENT OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' PRECINCTS AND COUNTY ELECTION PRECINCTS ON THE BASIS OF 1980 CENSUS DATA On this the 13th day of July, 1981, came on to be heard and considered by the Court the matter of the appointment of presiding judges and alternate presiding judges of the various election precincts of Kerr County pursuant to the provisions of Article 3.01 of the Texas Election Gode, which appointments are for the purpose of designating election officials whose duty it is to conduct elections held at county expense; and it appearing to the Court that in order to implement a realignrent of Kerr County election precincts on the basis of 1980 census data, it will be necessary to make substantial changes in the boundaries of certain Kerr County election precincts,which pending changes presently create uncertainties as to the precincts of residences of certain prospective appointees, it ie ordered on motion by Commissioner Lich seconded by Commissioner Speakmon and unanimously approved by the Court that the appointment of election judges and alternates pursuant to the provisions of Article 3.OI of the Texas Election Code be deferred until subsequent to the final realignment of County Election precincts on the basis of 1980 census data after the approval of the Attorney General of the United States of the proposed precinct boundaries; and it is further ordered that all presiding judges and alternate presiding judges heretofore appointed by the Commissioners' Court continue to serve on an interim basis pending further action by the Court.
