WHEREAS, It is the belief of this County Commissioner's Court that State revenue should
~_`(/ be directed toward the construction and maintenance of all roads and bridges in Texas, not
just the interstate system and state highways;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Governor and the Texas Legislature recognize that
counties cannot continue to depend on the limited property tax base to resolve this most
pressing problem; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Texas Legislature meeting in special session adopt a
1 cent fuel tax for county roads; and,
THEREFORE, The County Commissioner's Court of Kerr County requests that the Legislature
adopt and the Governor sign legislation to provide funding for the maintenance and construc-
tion of county roads along with state highways.
Motion made by Commissioner Higgins, seconded by Commissioner Holland and unanimously
approved by the Court this the 14th day of May 1984.

KERR COUNTY COURTHOUSE, ANNEX AND JAIL EXPANSION
On this the 14th day of May 1984, upon motion made by Commissioner Lich, seconded by
Commissioner Higgins, it was unanimously approved by the Court that JESSE FERNANDEZ, ARCHITECT,
434 S. Main Suite 211, San Antonio, Texas, 78204, be employed to prepare an architectural
study of the Kerr County Courthouse Building, Annex & Jail Expansion, at a fee not to exceed
the amount of $4,000.00.
It is	further ordered by the	Court that	Gordon S	. Morriss,	County Judge of Kerr	County,
Texas, be	authorized to execute an	Agreement	between	Kerr County	and Jesse Fernandez,	Archi-
tect, for the architectural study.

On this the 14th day of May 1984, came under advisement the proposed salary increase for
the Justice of the Peace of Precinct No. Four from $6,960.00 per annum to $7,320.00 per annum.
Motion was made by Commissioner Guthrie, seconded by Commissioner Holland and unanimously
approved by the Court that the salary of the Justice of the Peace of Precinct No. 4 be
increased from $6,960.00 per annum to $7,320.00 per annum, effective as of May 1st, 1984.

for the appointment of Mary Jane Rendon as an assistant in the land department, effective
