N0. 16188 ORDER APPOINTING COUNTY COURT-AT-LAW JUDGE FOR KERR COUNTY, TEXAS
On this the 25th day of July 1985, came on to be considered the appointment of a
County Court-at-Law Judge for Kerr County, Texas, from among applications filed (in acc
with ORDER NO. 16129).
Upon motion made by Commissioner Holland, seconded by Commissioner Higgins, with

and County Judge Aiorriss "Abstaining from voting", motion carried by a majority vote that

On this the 25th day of July 1985, upon motion made by Commissioner Holland, seconded

Kerr County Court-at-Law be October 1, 1985, and that the appointed County Court-at-Law
Judge, William L. ("Bill") Baskette, Jr., commence full duties on October 1, 1985.

N0. 16190 APPROVAL OF CLAIMS AND ACCOUNTS
On this the 25th day of July, 1985, came on to be considered by the Court the various
claims and accounts against Kerr County and the various Commissioners' Precincts, which
claims and accounts were approved for payment b_y the County Auditor and County Treasurer,
payable out of General, Road and Bridge, Revenue Sharing, Jury, 216th District Probation
Fund, Public Library, and County Library Funds.
Motion made by Commissioner Lich, seconded by Commissioner Higgins, and unanimously
approved by the Court that said bills be paid.

N0. 16191 APPROVAL OF MONTHLY REPORTS OF SHERIFF AND PRECINCT #5 JUSTICE OF THE PEACE
On this the 25th of July 1985, came on to be examined by the Court the monthly reports
of the County Sheriff and Justice of the Peace of Precinct #5, of Kerr County, Texas; and
having been heard and considered by the Court, on motion made by Commissioner Holland,
seconded by Commissioner Higgins, it was unanimously approved that said reports be approved
and filed with the County Clerk for future reference and subject to audit:

FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30th, 1985
On this the 25th day of July 1985, upon motion made by Commissioner Lich, seconded by
Commissioner Holland, with Commissioners Holland, Higgins, Lich, and Guthrie voting "AYE" and
County Judge Morriss voting "NAY", motion carried by a majority vote and Court approved that
the firm of DELOITTE HASKINS & SELLS be employed to audit the records of the County and
„~ Precinct Officials of Kerr County for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1984 and ending

September 30th, 1985, and make recommendations to the Commissioners' Court.

NO. 16194 RESIGNATION OF EDVTIN P. SLATER, JR., CHIEF DEPUTY IN KERR COUNTY SHERIFF'S
DEPARTMENT
On this the 25th day of July 1985, upon motion made by Commissioner Lich, seconded by
Commissioner Guthrie, the Court unanimously approved that the resignation of Edwin P. Slater,
Jr., Chief Deputy in Kerr County Sheriff's Office, be ratified and confirmed, effective
July 16, 1985.

NO. 16195 APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT V7ITH CITY OF KERRVILLE REGARDING SUBSIDY TO
D4O0RE SERVICE, INC. AT NE;a LANDFILL LOCATION
On this the 25th day of July 1985, upon motion made by Commissioner Higgins, seconded
by Commissioner Holland, the Court unanimously approved payment to the City of Kerrville
of $1400.00 per month, to be one-half of the additional subsidy to D4oore Service, Inc., for
operating the landfill until December 1, 1986--at which time the agreement will cease.
County Judge Gordon S. Morriss is authorized to sign any contract or letter agreement for
the payment of this subsidy.

NO. 16196 APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT TO THE CITY/COUNTY FIRE FIGHTING AGREEMENT
On this the 25th day of July 1985, upon motion made by Commissioner Guthrie, seconded
by Commissioner Holland, the Court unanimously approved an amendment to the existing
City/County Fire Fighting Agreement, wherein Kerr County will continue to pay to the City of
Kerrville the monthly rate of $4,166.67, for fire service rendered, beginning October 1st,
1985 and terminating on September 30th, 1986.
Except as amended herein, all of the provisions of the original agreement effective
October 1st, 1979 shall be in effect during the term hereof.
