On this the 23rd day of May 1985, came on to be considered by the Court, the request of
the District Judges for purchase of commercial carpet, to be installed in the District Court
area.
Upon motion made by Commissioner Holland, seconded by Commissioner Guthrie, the Court
unanimously approved the request and accepted the proposals from KUSTOM KARPETS, INC., as
follows:
Court area -approximately 76 sq. yds. at $10.50 per yd. installed $798.00
Price subject to final measurements of jury box area.
Audience area - approximately 22 sq. yds. at $10.50 per yd. installed 231.00
Clerk's and Judges' hallways - approximately 33 sq. yds. at $10.50 per
yd. installed 346.50
Extra labor on take-up will be $20.00 per hour, not to exceed four
(4) hours.

On this the 23rd day of May 1985, upon motion made by Commissioner Guthrie, seconded
by Commissioner Holland, it was unanimously approved by the Court that the County Auditor
and County Treasurer be authorized to pay various expenditures - such as postage, telephone
expenses and office supplies for Crime Stoppers, Inc., upon receipt and approval of invoices,
pursuant to Article 2372bb, V.A.C.S.

NO. 16085 APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURES FOR TWO PIEMBERS OF THE KERR COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
TO ATTEND ADVANCED CRIME STOPPERS SCHOOL IN ARLINGTON, TEXAS
On this the 23rd day of May 1985, upon motion made by Commissioner Higgins, seconded by
Commissioner Guthrie, the Court unanimously approved expenditures in the amount of $300.00 for
Edwin P. Slater, Jr., Chief Deputy Sheriff and Law Enforcement Co-ordinator for Crime Stoppersp
and Rhonda Powell, Dispatcher-Jailer, to attend an advanced Crime Stoppers School in Arlingtor~
Texas, June 12th through June 14th, 1985.
It is ordered by the Court that the County Auditor and County Treasurer be authorized to
draw a voucher on the General Fund, payable to Ed Slater, Jr., Chief Deputy Sheriff, in the I
above amount.

Kerr County Commissioners' Court accept the provisions contained in Pdinute Order No. 83013
passed by the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation on April 18, 1985, for
the improvement by the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation of:
Loop 534 from State Highway 16 South of Kerrville, Southeast
to Farm to Market Road 689.

WHEREAS, in KERR COUNTY on LOOP 534, from State Highway 16 South of Kerrville, Southeast
to Farm to Market Road 689, a distance of approximately 2.0 miles, the State Department of
Highways and Public Transportation is preparing plans for reconstruction; and
WHEREAS, the City of Kerrville and Kerr County will have responsibilities in the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Engineer-Director is directed to tender the following proposal to the
City of Kerrville and Kerr County:
Provided the City and/or County will:
1. Provide for the construction of continuous curb and gutter where none now
exist, storm sewers, etc., all as may be necessary for a complete project with the exception
of pavement and its support.
2. Maintain that portion of the work which is its responsibility in accordance
with present maintenance agreements, and agree to regulate traffic and prevent encroachment
on the right of way, all in accordance with governing policies and regulations of the Depart-
ment.
The State Department of Highways and Public Transportation will:
1. Provide for reconstruction at an estimated cost of $970,000.
2. Maintain that portion of the work which is its responsibility in accordance
with present maintenance agreement.

Upon acceptance of the provisions of this Order by the appropriate officials of the City
of Kerrville and Kerr County, the Engineer-Director is directed to proceed with development
of plans for construction and after the City and/or County have fulfilled their responsibili-
ties, proceed with construction in the most feasible and economical manner, financing the
cost in the 1984 District Discretionary Construction Program.
It is understood that the City and/or County may discharge their construction obligations
as outlined herein in any manner as they may elect. In the event the City and{or County
desires the State to include their portion of work in the State's construction contract,
the Engineer-Director is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with the City and/or County;,
for such work and its cost as may be agreed upon.
This Order shall become operative upon acceptance by the City of Kerrville and Kerr County ands!
if not accepted within 90 days of the date hereof, the action herein contained shall be
automatically cancelled.
