APPROVAL OF PURCHASE OF FIFTEEN NETa CHAIRS FROM COMMERCIAL
OFFICE SUPPLY, INC., TO BE USED IN THE KERR COUNTY DISTRICT
COURTROOM
On this the 23rd day of May 1985, upon motion made by
Commissioner Higgins, seconded by Commissioner Holland,
the Court unanimously approved the purchase of fifteen new
chairs from Commercial Office Supply, Inc. in the total
amount of $1845.00 ($123.00 for each chair), to be used in
the District Courtroom, which will replace the twelve jury
chairs with fourteen, to include alternates, and the witness
chair, as requested by the District Judges.
It is ordered by the Court that the County Auditor and County
Treasurer be authorized to draw a voucher on the
General Fund
in the amount of $1845.00, payable to Commercial Office Supply,
Inc., upon delivery and acceptance.

Yesterday Judge Johnson and Z were discussing the possible installation
of new swivel-type chairs for the jury and witness in the district court~.-oan
upstairs. initially, the district judges had indicated a desire to replace the
older chairs in time far the Ellebracht case this sumTer.
I told Judge Johnson that i had requested that you look at sane chairs
and put together a proposal for the oomnissioners' court to oa~sider a possible
purchase and replace the 12 jury chairs with 14 to include alternates, and the
witness chair. Mr. Spealanon stated today that. the bath of you were aiming far
late June, arXi I hope that you will have sanething soon far the court's review.
I believe that you are also looking into sane carpet for that oaurtroan
dwe to the canplaints by the district judges about the age and quality of the
present carpet. I believe that you should put this into a separate proposal if
you can. c
If you have a proposal and some specs that would satisfy the district
]ages. Please let me know and I will include the proposal for an agenda. I
Mould like to have case of the district judges speak to the court for this
purpose, and I would have to .coordinate when either of than Mould be available.
