I would encourage the county to take advantage of CES's self service training (no charge to the customer). This would allow the county to eliminate the maintenance agreement cost. June 14, 1985 Mr. Bill Baskette, Jr, c/o Office of the County Judge Kerr County Courthouse Kerrville, Texas 78028 Dear Mr. Baskette: Thank you for your inquiry regarding the OPTECH voting system for Kerr County, Since the OPTECN is a precinct tabulator, one unit is required for each voting box. I have included three additional units which would be used to tally absentee and used in the primaries. I have also included as an option the programmer/accumulator. This would enable the county to program the OPTECH's as well as automatically accumulate county-wide precinct results. Should Kerr County decide not to purchase this unit, programming is available from CES (and other vendors) on a contract basis. The prices quoted will remain firm until July 37st. CES has announced a price increase at that time of $400.00 per unit, There are at this time several counties looking at this system. Should the counties purchase at one time, the quantity discount should tower the price by several hundred dollars. Thanks again for your interest. If I may provide any additional information, please call. Respectfully, ~ .~DCQ~ Tom D. Eschberger ~`- District Manager TDE/kt enc, C,pMPL,TEF ELECTION SYSTEMS 4301 WIIEV POST ROAq . ADDISON.
