ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT OFFER BY THE FEDERAL AVIATION .ADMINISTRATION
FOR THE 600' EXTENSION OF RUNWAY 12/30 AT LOUIS SCHREINER FIELD
On this the 25th day of February 1985, upon motion made by
Commissioner Higgins, seconded by Commissioner Holland, the
Court unanimously approved acceptance of a Grant Offer by the
Federal Aviation Administration for the 600' Extension of Runway
12/30, Project No. 3-48-0121-02-85 at the Louis Schreiner Field,
as recommended by the Kerrville-Kerr County Joint Airport Board
and in concurrence with the action taken by the City of Kerrville
on February 12th, 1985, in the amount of $550,000.00.
It is ordered by the Court that County Judge Gordon S. Morriss
be authorized to execute said agreement on behalf of Kerr County.

SUBJECT: F.A.A. GRANT FOR 600' EXTENSION OF RUNWAY 12/30
At the February 6, 1985 Kerrville-Kerr County Joint Airport Advisory
Meeting, it was recommended that City Council and County Commissioners
Court accept the grant offer of $550,000 for the 600' extension of
Runway 12/30. It was further recommended that all requirements for
architectural, engineering and planning consultant services for
airport grant projects from the Federal Aviation Administration be
implemented as per the Minority Business Enterprise Program adopted
by the City and the County.

I am pleased to inform you, in response to your request for assistance
under the Airport Improvement Program, as authorized by the Airport and
Airway Improvement Aet of 1982, that we have approved for Fiscal Year 1985
the following allocation for the Kerrville Municipal Airport.
Federal Funds: $550,000'
Project No.: 3-48-0121-02-85
Development: Extend Runway 12-30 600 feet (to 100 feet by
5,000 feet); extend medium intensity runway lights and
parallel taxiway; relocate entrance road; acquire land
for runway extension and clear zone; fencing.
This allocation may be used only for the development described above. You
will note that the allocation does not contain all of the funds and
development you requested. Our Airports Division personnel will contact
you to provide any assistance you may need.
We look forward to working with you and your staff toward the successful
completion of this project.
