ORDER NO. 16136 ORDER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE NEW COUNTY COURT-AT-LAW COURTROOM AND OFFICES AND MODIFICATION OF THE EXISTING TAX ASSESSOR-COLLECTOR'S OFFICE On this the 20th day of June 1985, upon motion made by Commis- sioner Holland, seconded by Commissioner Guthrie, the Court unanimously approved that the County Judge be authorized to advertise for bids for the new County Court-at-Law Courtroom and Offices and modification of the existing Tax Assessor- Collector's Office. ADVERTISEME*dT FOR BIDS SEALED PROPOSALS will be received by the Administrative Assistant to the Kerr County Commissioners' Court, Bill Baskette, Jr., until 4:00 o'clock P. P1., Monday, July 8th, 1985, for a contract proposed to be let by Kerr County for the new County Court-at-Law Courtroom and offices and modification of the existing Tax Assessor-Collector's Office, at which time all proposals received will be publicly opened and read aloud and referred to the County Auditor for tabulation, checking and evaluation. Final award of a contract is proposed to be made on the 25th day of July 1985, by the Commissioners' Court convened at its regular meeting place in the Kerr County Courthouse, at a meeting scheduled to begin at 10:00 o'clock A. t2. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS may be examined without charge at the office of the County Judge, at the office of Schubert & ['Tilliams, Inc., the Architect, 115 Camaron, Suite 200, San Antonio, Texas 78205 and in the plan rooms of San Antonio Builders Exchange, F. W. Dodge Corpora- tion and the Associated General Contractors, San Antonio, Texas. Each complete set of Drawings, Specifications and Contract Documents may be obtained from the office of Schubert & Williams, Inc., or the Kerr County Judge's office at the Kerr County Courthouse, Kerrville, Texas, upon payment of a deposit of Fifty dollars ($50.00) as a guarantee of the safe return of the Drawings, Specifications and Contract Documents. All Drawings and Specifications are the property of the Architect and must be returned to the place where obtained for return of the deposit. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check or certified check for 50 of the amount of the proposal, made payable unconditionally to the Kerr County Treasurer and'satisfactory to the Court, as required by Article 5160, V.A.T.C.S. and Article 5159a, V.A.T.C.S., requiring that not less than the general prevailing rates of per diem wages for work of similar character in the locality where the work is performed shall be paid all laborers, workmen and mechanics in the construction of public works. ATTENTION OF BIDDERS is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. Bid bonds will be returned upon awarding of the bid and contract execution. No bid may be withdrawn for 30 days after the time set for receipt of the proposals. The bidders will notify their suppliers and subcontractors that this project is exempt from all City and State sales taxes. BIDDERS are expected to inspect the site of the work and to inform themselves of all local conditions, and carefully examine the plans, specifications and other documents. Should a bidder find discrep- ancies in, or omissions from, the plans, specifications or other documents, or should he question their meaning, he should at once notify the Engineer and obtain clarification prior to submitting any bid. In case of ambiguity or lack of clarity in stating the contract price, the County reserves the right to consider the most advan- tageous construction therİof.
