ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT KERR COUNTY, TEXAS KERB COUNTY COURTHOUSE KERRVILLE. TEXAS 78028 May 24, 1985 Mr. John Williams Schubert & Williams, Inc. 115 Camaron Street San Antonio, Texas 78205 RE: New Courtroom and Offices for Kerr County Dear Mr. Williams: Thank you for your fine presentation on your plans for our building project. I believe that the cooperation that we have received has contributed to the positive response to your plans. As you may have observed, the commissioners were a little concerned about the total cost estimate for the project. From looking around our courthouse you may have observed that Kerr County has never had the luxuries of the Bexar County courts. Let me tell you that at this time the Court is also looking at a huge expenditure for expanding our jail space and bond issues and tax hikes are not popular in this area. (512)257-6711 Between now and June 20, if you have any questions or would like any input on ways to keep the costs down, I would greatly appreciate your consideration. We do not have the expertise that you do on courtrooms, but would like to be of any assistance throughout the project. If there are ways to reduce the estimated costs in the project, particularly the "interior finishes," please consider them. We would like to build a better courtroom than what we already have to accomodate the diverse uses we have in mind for the area, and hope that we can do so within reason. Please let me know how I may be of assistance.
