On this the 12th day of November 1985, upon motion made by
Commissioner Holland seconded by Commissioner Higgins
the Court unanimously approved a partial payment to RAY
ASSOCIATES, INC., for professional services rendered to
Kerr County on Personnel Management, for the period September
20th, 1985 through October 19th, 1985, and for additional
consultation on scheduling of Sheriff's Department deputies,
in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, as requested
by the Commissioners' Court on October 24th, 1985, in the
total amount of $4,761.27.
It is ordered by the court that the County Treasurer and County
Auditor be authorized to draw a voucher in the above amount,
payable to RAX ASSOCIATES, INC. out of the General Fund.

1985, in partial fulfillment of letter contract dated July 8,
1985
Progress Report ~~~~~
Completed draft of Kerr County personnel policies and pro-
cedures manual; prepared and presented to the Commissioners
Court on September 26 recommendations on longevity pay, a
schedule for conducting performance evaluations, and the use
of merit increases following probationary period; continued
writing job descriptions for all Kerr County positions;
consulted by telephone with Sheriff's Department and County
Judge Gordon Morriss on scheduling of Sheriff's Department
deputies in accordance with the provisions of the Fair Labor
Standards Act.
Additional consultation on FLSA pursuant to verbal request from
Kerr County Commissioners Court on October 24, 1985, at standard
hourly rates
Consultation with County Sheriff, his representatives, and
County Treasurer to establish new work period under Section
7(K) exception to FLSA and new work schedules and shifts for
deputy sheriffs and jail personnel on October 24, 1985 (K. B.
Ray, 3 hours @ $70; T. Linehan, 3 hours @ $40).
