APPROVAL OF MERIT INCREASES FOR VARIOUS KERR COUNTY EMPLOYEES
On this the 15th day of April 1986, came on to be considered
by the Court requests from various Kerr County Officials for
merit increases for certain employees.
A motion was made by Commissioner Guthrie, seconded by Commis-
sioner Holland, with Commissioners Holland and Guthrie and
County Judge Morriss voting "AYE" and Commissioners Higgins
and Lich voting "NAY", said motion carrying by a majority vote
approving merit increases for a certain number of Kerr County
employees from various offices, effective as of April 16th,
1986, as follows:
County Clerk's Office 3 employees
Sheriff's Office 3 employees
District Clerk's Office 1 employee
Tax Assessor-Collector's Office 2 employees
and
that the remaining Kerr County Offices (excluding the Road and
Bridge Departments) listed as follows shall be granted a merit
increase for one employee per each office as shown beloca:

GENTLEMEN:
I have prioritized the five (5) deputies that I had previously
requested for Merit Increases as you have requested me to do.
They are as follows:
Karen Lee Lynn, Deputy, Intermediate Clerk, from $11,757.00
per annum to $12,352.00 per annum, from $979.75 per month
$489.88 semi-monthly to $1029.33 per month, $514.67 semi-
monthly, Kerr County Pay Group 11, Step 3. Total increase
for six (6) months is $297.48.
Tommie C. Huston, Deputy, Intermediate Clerk, from $12,978.00
per annum to $13,635.00 per annum, from $1081.50 per month,
$540.75 semi-monthly, to $1136.25 per month, $568.13 semi-
monthly, Kerr County Pay Group 13, Step 3. Total increase
for six (6) months is $328.50.
Vivian Kuhlmann, Deputy, Intermediate Clerk, from $13,302.00
per annum to $13,976.00 per annum, from $1108.50 per month,
$554.25 semi-monthly, to $1,164.67 per month, $582.33 semi-
monthly, Kerr County Pay Group 11, Step 8. Total increase
for six (6~ months is $337.02.
Florence M. Wheeler, Deputy, Administrative Clerk, from
$15,812.00 per annum to $16,612.00 per annum, from $1317.67
per month, $658.83 semi monthly, to $1,384.33 per month,
$692.17 semi-monthly, Kerr County Pay Group 15, Step 7.
Total increase for six (6) months is $399.96.
Mary Ann Medrano, Deputy, Senior Accounting Clerk, from
$14,325.00 per annum to $15,050.00 per annum, from $1,193.75
per month, $596.88 semi-monthly, to $1,254.17 per month,
$627.08 semi-monthly, Kerr County Pay Group 15, Step 3.

The total amount of increases for all five (5) deputies for six (6)
months is $1,725.42. This figure is well within the 2$ of the total
salary budget of $4,360 for this year's budget for the County Clerk's
office .
May I request guidelines for merit increases and changing job classi-
fications? It would be very helpful to me and other elected officials.
