On this the 12th day of May 1986, upon motion made by Commis-
sioner Holland, seconded by Commissioner Higgins, the Court
unanimously approved acceptance of a negotiated bid of GENERAL
ELECTRIC COMPANY, as proposed by Bexar Communications of Texas,
Inc., for radio equipment for use by the Kerr County Sheriff's
Department, in the amount of $11,329.78, which includes the
installation.

Dear Mr. Love,
In response to our discussion on February 19, MOTOROLA, INC, is
pleased to present this proposal to upgrade the communications
system for the Kerr County Sheriff's Department.
This proposal provides for the replacement of your current repeater,
Inter City Base Station, antennas and transmission line, replacing
your mobile units with the Syntor X and incorporate the use of
Motorola's PAC RT Portable/Mobile Vehicular Repeater System with the
Syntor X mobile unit. I have proposed the HT440 Portable Unit to
operate with the PAC RT Repeater. Also included is the cost of the
T1617 and Centracom Series II•consoles to replace the existing GE
console.
By utilizing the Motorola PAC RT Repeater an officer is able to main-
tain effective radio communications while out-of-the-vehicle. This is
accomplished by using a portable unit which transmits a radio signal
to the PAC RT Repeater, which activates the mobile radio in the vehicle
and provides communications with the dispatcher and other mobile and
portable units in the system.
