COUNTY AND CLARK & STROMAN CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER ON THE THIRD
FLOOR OE THE KERR COUNTY COURTHOUSE
On this the 14th day of October 1986, upon motion made
by Commissioner Guthrie seconded by Commissioner Higgins,
the Court unanimously approved CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 of the
Contract between Kerr County and Clark & Stroman Construction,
Inc., as recommended by Architect Michael Neal Walker,
It is ordered by the Court that County Judge Morriss be
authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 on behalf of Kerr
County.
(Original Contract Sum - $27,403.00. Contract Sum by Change
Order increased by $1,073.00 = $28,476.00 for new Contract
sum.)

responded to by Clark & Stroman September 23, 1986 (copies
attached) NO CHANGE
2: Provide Exercise Room as originally included in the Contract Documents
but modified by Proposal Request 1 with 6" CMU walls, existing steel.
channel door frame, and reused modified steel plate door with the
following exceptions: 1.) Steel plate and bar door shall be relocated
with a right hand door swing with the hinge jamb located as close to
the CC ]. control box as practical and CMU extended from floor to walls
to ceiling around door' opening, 1/2" dia. x 18" dowels set in epoxy grout
4" into concrete masonry floors, walls, and ceilings at 16" o.c. with
2-#5 vertical continuous around door and cells grouted in with 2500
p.s.i. grout (bottom 3 courses and 2 cells adjacent to openings and
other walls) and CMU lintel. over the door opening grouted full with
2-#5. See attached plan R1. 2.) Bollow metal door and frame already
in place should remain, CMU lapped over edge of door jamb and attached
thereto with 3 expansion type anchors. AUll $1,073.00

1. ns requested by the Fire Marshall, revise the location of the
local f[re alarm horn to the Corridor outside the Office mounted
as close to ceiling as possible. Also add the optional feature
strobe light to the alarm system at the'same mounting junction.
2. ns reyuested by `the Fire Marshall and consistent with the
Life Safety Code Section'101, provide an additional fire exit by
utlltzinq the window opening as indicated on the enclosed Drawing
R1.
3. Revise the existing Vestibule by deleting the 6" CMU wall as
indicated ott the enclosed Drawing Rl renaming the Exerr_ise space.
4. Exchange the Office and Visitor room locations as indicated
nn the enclosed Drawing RI including ttte following alterations:
a. Removal of hinged plate from the southwest window of the
Office (to be reused as a f[re exit door - see Item 2 above).
b. Modifying plate and window at northwest wall of the Office
to receive and f[rmly Install a IIOV wittdow air conditioner to
be furnished by Owner and installed by Contractor.
c. Provide 2'-8" x 6'-8" x t-314" hollow metal door with
10"x10" wire glass ligt)t as called for in the original Bidding
Documents dated 5-1-86.
